[Intro]

[Verse 1]
So we said goodbye to Barcelona
Oh, with a bunch of brand fine new strings in our hand
We all know and we all knew, the crew know
Oh, that the captain's gin bottle rarely left his hand

[Verse 2]
Message broke in on the faulty wireless
Was a storm force warnin', numbered gale nine
When the crew brought out the hymn books and stood around us
And we sang our hearts out all night Auld Lang Syne

[Bridge]
Oh, there were many of us here when we started
But the numbers they have dwindled one by one
Oh, some have left, some been carried off here
But I guess we're here until this job is done

[Instrumental]

[Verse 3]
So we said goodbye to Barcelona
Oh, with a flotsam 'n' jetsam floating way behind
Yeah, and seagulls with them fish, they followed jumpin'
And you could almost hear the singin' of those sirens

[Bridge]
And there were many of us here when we started
Oh, but the numbers, they have dwindled one by one
Oh, now, some have left an' some been carried from here
Oh, but I guess we're here until this job is done

[Verse 4]
So we said goodbye to friends with friendship
With a hug and kiss and misty in the eye
Now I'm here back home with my kin and kinship
I say a prayer for those at sea and I know why

[Outro]
