Songwriter: Bruce Springsteen

I get up in the evening
And I ain't got nothing to say
I come home in the morning
I go to bed feeling the same way
I ain't nothing but tired
I'm just tired and bored with myself
Hey there baby I could use just a little help

You can't start a fire
You can't start a fire without a spark
This gun is for hire
Even if we're just dancing in the dark

Message keeps getting clearer
Radio's on and I'm moving 'round my place
I check my look in the mirror
Wanna change my hair, my clothes, my face
I ain't getting nowhere just living in a dump like this
There's something happening somewhere
There's something happening somewhere
There's something happening somewhere

You can't start a fire
You can't start a fire without a spark
This gun is for hire
Even if we're just dancing in the dark

Can't start a fire
Sitting around crying over a broken heart
This gun is for hire
Even if we're just dancing in the dark

You can't start a fire
Worrying about your little world falling apart
This gun is for hire
Even if we're just dancing in the dark

Tegan and Sara

Tegan and Sara is a Canadian pop duo that was formed in Calgary by identical twins Tegan Rain Quin and Sara Keirsten Quin. They both started playing guitar and writing songs under the name Plunk in 1997. They independently released their debut album Under Feet Like Ours in 1999 under the name “Sara and Tegan.”

The pair notably wrote all of their songs separately until their sixth studio album, Sainthood which features Paperback Head, the only song on the album co-written by the pair.

Both Tegan and Sara are openly gay, and are advocates for LGBTQ+ rights. In December 2016 they founded The Tegan And Sara Foundation, to fight for “economic justice, health and representation for LGBTQ girls and women.”
