Nine to Five to stay alive

Don't hurt me again (no, no)
Don't hurt me again, baby

[The Alchemist]
Listen, listen, listen

We will be here forever. Do you understand? For ever!
For ever and ever, and ever and ever

{MF DOOM}
Tried to outrun 'er
The Chikungunya had 'em leg-locked
Stunned slipping out of bed-cot
Head hot, ready not
Wait a cotton-pickin' minute, carver bitten by a [?]
(Do you understand?)
[?] armor, shouda rid 'er as a larva
(Do you understand?)
Stuck in the system like the best tape ate up
Under pressure like under investigation straight up
No chaser, ask for it like the victim
First time she kissed him was the worst time she dissed him
Bet your bottom wad of Washingtons would'a squashed it then
Now he's like a hostage in the box, needing oxygen
Breathe it in, came up out the swamp lands
Conquered fans, clap your feet, stomp your hands
Loose cannon, wasn't wrapped too tight, hair trigger
A tendency to bust at the slightest tap, yeah n-
(Do you understand?)
Gold dropper, live round size nine
Sometimes a mind of her own, sometimes a hive mind
Thuggin', screamin', "fug the police"
With they brain on bugs in a hot pan with no grease
Keep your toes crossed, clothes off, rose quartz, so warm
Yet still so cold, [?]
[?] soon as she step foot
[?] Queen like [?] that of Hatshepsut
[?], showed her what the dick was
Sure to satisfy with more nuts than a Snickers does
Love is a battlefield, scarred like Benetar
It's all fair in lust and war ma, ven aca
Caught up in the crossfire like Binaca blast
Cockblockers hatin' like it's not gonna last
(Do you understand?)
[?] the low like Lee Roth from the tee-off
'Till she brought a blade to his knees [?] squeeze soft
Cursed be the gin
Be sure to bring the juice, lord, they thirsty as sin
If this is the end, she worked at a ten
Remember when we was just friends, then?
Between the sheets
Splash the beat, squirt skeet with the pen
See 'em in the streets
(Don't hurt me again)

The Alchemist

The Alchemist is a rapper and DJ on top of being one of the most prolific producers in hip-hop who is known for his eclectic beats. Al’s sample-heavy style has been associated with an East Coast sound even though he reps the West Coast, but he has worked with rappers from every region of America—including Nas, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, and Eminem among others.

At 14 years old, Daniel Alan Maman from Beverly Hills, California entered the rap game as Mudfoot, one-half of The Whooliganz with actor Scott Caan in 1991. He also grew up with Evidence from Dilated Peoples and produced the crew’s debut single “Third Degree” in 1997. Al was mentored by Cypress Hill’s DJ Muggs, who taught him production techniques and later introduced him to Mobb Deep. Al’s early productions on Mobb Deep’s Murda Muzik album in 1999 began to grow his profile, which took off after the popularity of his production on the 2001 Jadakiss hit “We Gonna Make It.”

The Alchemist has been involved in many projects over the years. He released two compilations—2004’s 1st Infantry and 2009’s Chemical Warfare—a number of instrumental albums, mixtapes, as well as collaborative albums with Prodigy and Havoc of Mobb Deep, Curren$y, Freddie Gibbs, Action Bronson, Oh No (as Gangrene), and Evidence (as Step Brothers) to name a few. Al has served as a DJ for Eminem and Action Bronson shows, and Al has also been a frequent guest on Action Bronson’s Viceland food show Fuck, That’s Delicious. Al used vocal samples from the show throughout his 2020 album The Food Villain.
