I believe in yesterday
It understands, a second chance
Just as night sets in
The sky likes to blur, it’s colors
Its good to hear you sing
As though nothing in all, the world were wrong
Is it only me
Or is this room, burning all around us

Do you love me still baby? baby

I believe in melody
Fills the space, it resonates
My mind rides the breeze
Holding me, in it’s teeth
Lost your empathy?
Well honestly, were all weary (from)
Running down the dream
Its endlessly, dangling in front of us

Do you love me still baby? baby

(A-F-R-O)
I see blurred lines
Words in my mind im hurting my spine
The noise in my mind the wrong choices in my life time
Word to god we all know it can get tough
But some end up with hard drugs or end up being a park bum
The black and tar lungs
The alcoholic Hollywood hell hounds
Harming they health
How can i help it
Undoubtable feeling the foulness of the industry
Is it me or is it the enemy
Wishing to stop the fro and put and end to me
They trying to feed me dope and put me into death
But i know if i mess around itll lead me to death
But i let up i was f'in with peer pressure for meer pleasure
I got hooked but tried to stop it it's a clear effort
I wondering why am i living through all this affliction
Thru it all i knew it all i thru it all away for my addiction
For the cocaine the cigarettes meth and drug prescriptions
The birds eye description with blurred line vision

The KickDrums

The KickDrums is the recording alias of producer/singer/songwriter Alex Fitts. Fitts’ music combines elements spanning many genres, seamlessly incorporating a range of diverse sounds into a dynamic mix all his the percussive sampled beats of The Avalanches and trip-hop swagger à la Phantogram.

In the mid 2000’s, Fitts started his career working with local hip-hop acts in his hometown of Cleveland, where his sound caught the ears of high-caliber rappers who loved his production hybrid of hip-hop and indie rock. This led to The KickDrums working with artists like 50 Cent, Kid Cudi, Freddie Gibbs, A$AP Rocky & Lana Del Rey, as well as doing remixes for Adele, Kanye West, and Linkin Park. He’s also collaborated with hip-hop/R&B heavyweights, including RZA, MGK, and SZA. With half a decade of star-studded production projects under his belt, The KickDrums put out their debut artist LP, Meet Your Ghost, in 2011 via Last Gang Records, followed by 2013’s Thinking Out Loud, with Hopeless Records, as well as a collaborative album with rapper Duckwrth in 2015.

After years of releasing music non-stop, Fitts took time to step away from his work, allowing him to clear his mind for a fresh start. Two years of living in Spain inspired novel ideas and impressive collaborations, building up to The KickDrums’ newest album, 2020’s Blurred Colors.
