Vaness Wu (吳建豪) was born on August 7, 1978 in Santa Monica, California and was raised in Newport Beach, California. He is a Taiwanese-American actor, entertainer, singer, director, spokesperson, and producer.

He graduated from Corona del Mar High School. He studied acting in Hollywood and is fluent in Mandarin, English, Spanish and Cantonese. Before moving to Taiwan, he worked as a telemarketer.

He is a member of the Taiwanese group F4 (from the Taiwanese adaptation of “Boys Over Flowers” called “Meteor Garden”) and the Korean-Mandarin duo Kangta & Vaness.
