Last day that you're home flies by
The road comes for me like an evil eye
Daddy got a gig and he must ride
Sword and a pistol by his side
Last day that you're home flies by

Woman, I can see you there
I try to act calm like I don't care
But if I stay, I'm never gonna leave
Gonna pull you in close 'til you believe
Woman, I can see you there

Yeah!
Yeah, yeah!

Tuggin' on a boat and the shoestring's rough
You bet against scratch and he calls your bluff
You make your move and you act real tough
But he'll be waiting with your coat when you've had enough
Tuggin' on a boat and the shoestring's rough

Road gonna rumble, road gonna rage
Road let the monster outta my cage
Road gonna rise, gonna race, gonna raise
Gonna roll to the river if the ferryman pays
Road gonna rumble, road gonna rage

Oh yeah!
Yeah, yeah, yeah!
Yeah!

Daddy slaying dragons in your dreams at night
He's facing down villains and ogres he'd fight
He playing with the sky and the stars and their light
He hears you when you whisper and he's holding you tight
Daddy slaying dragons in your dreams at night

Daddy got the stack and he's comin' on home
He's been to Brisbane and Dallas and Rome
Try to be happy, try not to be grown
'Cause he didn't wanna leave you or your mama alone
Daddy got the stack and he's comin' on home
Comin' on home
Comin' on home
