I wake up in the middle of the night
In the middle of a sweet dream
Tell me what I am supposed to do
When I wake up in the middle of the night
When you've got those blue eyes
I try to fight the fire but I'm consumed

It's a game that I'll never seem to win
I swear I wouldn't but here I go again
Lord help me, I'm falling in love
Lord help me, there's no way out but I can't get enough
I'm standing on the ship that's going down
You said ask and you shall receive
Well I'm down on my knees
Lord help me
Oh Lord help me

I can't help but wonder if it's right
Because I've been cheated on, treated wrong
But maybe this time I've seen the light
Turn the other cheek to the other danger signs
But now it's too late, I have to say I'm in over my head
It's a heavenly mess I'm in
I swore I wouldn't but here I go again!

Lord help me. I'm falling in love
Lord help me, there's no way out but I can't get enough
I'd save myself but I don't know how
You said ask and you shall receive
Down on my knees
Lord help me
Oh Lord help me

You said ask and you shall receive
Can't you see that I'm down on my knees
Tonight I'm begging, please!

Lord help me. I'm falling in love
Lord help me, there's no way out but I can't get enough
I'm standing on the ship that's going down
You said ask and you shall be redeemed
Well I'm down on my knees
Lord help me!

Oh lord help me!
Lord help me!
Yeah

Bonnie Tyler

Bonnie Tyler (born Gaynor Hopkins) was born on June 8, 1951 in Skewen, Wales. She was one of the most famous singers in the 80’s and is known for her noticeably rough and husky vocals.

Her first single, charting at #9 in her home country, “Lost In France,” put her in the public eye. After a bit of silence throughout the late 70s and early 80s, her best-selling and best-performing single on the charts of all time, “Total Eclipse of The Heart,” was released. Her 5th album, Faster Than The Speed of Night, also topped the charts in a few countries possibly because it contained Total Eclipse. Another notable song, “Holding Out for a Hero,” was released one year later for the Footloose soundtrack.

Tyler married Robert Sullivan, an Olympic judo contestant in 1973. They have no children. As of 2018, she is 66 years old and still in good health.
