[Verse 1]
Girl sitting right down here
Where it's not so crowded
He sees you looking but he's not doing anything about it
Baby you're looking
In the wrong direction
'Cause this friction between us
Is just straight perfection
(Why you playing hard to get?)

[Pre-Chorus]
Oooh oooh
We don't have the time
Just put your lips on mine, fine lady
Oooh oooh
Don't you be going very far
Just think of all the crazy little things up in your mind that we'd be doing this minute

[Chorus]
If we were in the dark
If we-we-we-we were in the dark (dark) woah
If we-we were in the daaark
Daaark
We were in the dark
Dark-dark-dark-dark
(We-we-we, we were, we were)

[Verse 2]
She's spending every other night alone
'Cause all them other guys are blowing up her phone
But she really doesn't know
How good it could be
If she rearranged her plans
And made them with me
I'm not into pressing by butt?
But your sexy little body has got me stuck
And I know there's something that I miss
But before I go on, let me tell you this

[Pre-Chorus]
Oooh oooh
We don't have the time
Just put your lips on mine, fine lady
Oooh oooh
Don't you be going very far
Just think of all the crazy little things up in your mind that we'd be doing this minute

[Chorus]
If we were in the dark
If we-we-we-we were in the dark (dark) woah
If we-we were in the daaark
Daaark
We were in the dark
Dark-dark-dark-dark
Dark-dark-dark

[Bridge]
Ooh, yeah baby
Wanna have you to myself
Oooh oooh
Yeah baby
Don't want nobody else
Heeey, yeah
Just put your lips on mine, fine lady
Yeeeah
Woooaaah

[Chorus]
We were in the dark
If we-we-we-we were in the dark (dark) woah
If we-we were in the daaark
Daaark
We were in the dark
Dark-dark-dark-dark
We-we-we-we were in the dark
If we-we-we-we were in the dark (dark) woa-woah
If we-we were in the -
If we were in the -
If we were in the dark
Dark-dark-dark-dark
We-we-we-we were in the dark

Charlie Puth

Charlie Puth is an American singer-songwriter who started by making and covering songs on his YouTube channel. His big break came when he was featured on the Furious 7 song “See You Again,” which he had written for a friend who passed away in a similar accident. The song reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for twelve weeks, becoming the longest-running rap number one along with Eminem’s “Lose Yourself.” The song’s iconic music video was also the most viewed video on all of YouTube for a short amount of time when it passed PSY’s “Gangnam Style” in July 2017.

His first project, The Otto Tunes, was released in 2010, with the title being a play on his middle name, Otto, and autotune. His second release, Ego, was also self-produced and dropped in October 2013.

His major-label debut Nine Track Mind was released January 29, 2016, and lead single “Marvin Gaye” with Meghan Trainor topped the charts in the UK and reached the top twenty-five in the US, peaking at #21. His next single “One Call Away” fared even better, hitting #12 in the US and establishing Puth as a full-blown star as opposed to a two-hit wonder. A deluxe edition of the record was released in November 2016.
