[Verse 1]
Momma used to teach
And Preacher used to preach
There's angels watching over me
Their here to shield you
So you don't yield to the devil
When your soul gets weak
But they're hard to hear
When you're jammin gears
And they're always hanging back
Yeah they try to chase but if they wanna save me
They better step on the gas

[Chorus]
Cause I'm livin faster than my angels can fly
Yeah I've been wearin the wings off mine
I'm bound to die out-livin life
Faster than my angels can fly
Yeah faster than my angels can fly

[Verse 2]
Theres days I regret this hitch in my step
And scars on my boots and hands
All those times I rushed to get growed up
And to hurry to become a man
And the promises I made
And the hearts I break all in the name of fun
Yeah id apologize but I ain't go no time for no tie me up slow me down love

[Chorus]
Cause I'm livin faster than my angels can fly
Yeah I've been wearin the wings off mine
I'm bound to die out-livin life
Faster than my angels can fly
Yeah faster than my angels can fly

[Verse 3]
Yeah I slowed down, I ain't what I was
Still they ain't got a prayer
Of ever catching up
Cause I was born to run, born to run, born to run
Yeah

[Outro]
Faster than my angels can fly
Yeah I've been wearin the wings off mine
Yeah I'm bound to die out-livin life
Faster than my angels can fly
Yeah faster than my angels can fly

Eric Church

Eric Church is an American country music singer-songwriter from Granite Falls, North Carolina. After graduating from Appalachian State University with a business degree in 2000, Eric became engaged to a Spanish teacher from Lenior, NC whose father attempted to deter his musical aspirations by offering him a corporate career in Denver. After turning down her father’s offer, Church’s ex-fiance broke the engagement, giving Church motivation to move to Nashville and begin focusing solely on his music. Recollections of this turning point in Church’s life are heard throughout his lyrical portfolio (most prominently in “Those I’ve Loved”).

After a period of being overlooked by record labels and producers, Church was eventually signed to Capitol Records in 2006, making his debut with the album, Sinners Like Me. The album produced four singles on the Billboard Country Chart, “How ‘Bout You,” “Two Pink Lines,” “Guys Like Me,” and the album’s title track.

His second album, 2009’s Carolina, produced three more “Smoke a Little Smoke,” “Love Your Love the Most,” and “Hell on the Heart.”
