[Chorus]
Oh whoa whoa, Oh whoa whoa, whoa whoa whoa

[Verse 1]
No one would blame ya tomorrow
If you packed your things and hit that open road
Ended up in the bahamas with an address that
Only your mama would know
Yeah I could lie and say this time im going to change
But we both know better
I’m like a ship out on the ocean
Cussin’ the waves but loving the motion
Chasing a star that don’t always shine
Getting’ far out and falling behind
I know loving me’s never been easy
I’m like a wild card that's hard to play
But I wana thank you for loving me anyway

[Chorus]

[Verse 2]
They dressed you up like an angel
And they painted you a halo and some wings
That gold carat they dangled
Was supposed to keep your eyes off guys like me
They told you I’m no good
And that you always could do so much better
I’m like a ship out on the ocean
Cussin’ the waves but loving the motion
Chasing a star that don’t always shine
Getting far out and falling behind
I know loving me’s never been easy
I’m like a wild card that's hard to play
But I won’t thank you for loving me anyway
Yeah through the ups and downs and sideways
All the got to have it my ways
Yeah the crazy nights and dog days
You kept on loving me anyway
Whoa oh

[Chorus]

[Verse 3]
Hey
I’m like a ship out on the ocean
Cussin’ the waves but loving the motion
I’m like a ship out on the ocean
Cussin’ the waves but loving the motion
Getting far out I’m falling behind
Yeah loving loving loving me anyways

[Chorus]

[Outro]
You’re loving me anyways yeah
Yeah I’m like a ship out on the ocean
Loving the waves but cussin’ the motion

Eric Church

Eric Church is an American country music singer-songwriter from Granite Falls, North Carolina. After graduating from Appalachian State University with a business degree in 2000, Eric became engaged to a Spanish teacher from Lenior, NC whose father attempted to deter his musical aspirations by offering him a corporate career in Denver. After turning down her father’s offer, Church’s ex-fiance broke the engagement, giving Church motivation to move to Nashville and begin focusing solely on his music. Recollections of this turning point in Church’s life are heard throughout his lyrical portfolio (most prominently in “Those I’ve Loved”).

After a period of being overlooked by record labels and producers, Church was eventually signed to Capitol Records in 2006, making his debut with the album, Sinners Like Me. The album produced four singles on the Billboard Country Chart, “How ‘Bout You,” “Two Pink Lines,” “Guys Like Me,” and the album’s title track.

His second album, 2009’s Carolina, produced three more “Smoke a Little Smoke,” “Love Your Love the Most,” and “Hell on the Heart.”
