[Verse 1]
I got nowhere to go
There's no hiding place for me
I've used up all my connections
And I've got no guarantees
And I'm out on the street now
With a monkey on my back
I need somebody to help me
To get my soul back on track

[Chorus]
Oh, someone to have faith in me
Oh, will somebody set me free
I'm living in a dream
In a scene of desperation
Living in a dream
Won't you come and rescue me
Living in a dream
Searching for salvation
Oh please, baby please
Won't you come and rescue me

[Verse 2]
I'm no different than you
You don't have to understand
We've all had our problems
Now I need a helping hand
And yeah

[Chorus]
Oh, someone to have faith in me
Oh, will somebody set me free
I'm living in a dream
In a scene of desperation
Living in a dream
Won't you come and rescue me
Living in a dream
Searching for salvation
Oh please, baby please
Won't you come and rescue me

[Verse 3]
I got nowhere to go
Got a monkey on my back
I need some help from above now
To get my soul back on track, oh
I'm living in a dream
In a scene of desperation
Living in a dream
Won't you come and rescue me
Living in a dream
Searching for salvation
Oh please, baby please
Won't you come and rescue me

Foreigner

The name of the band Foreigner was chosen because half of the original members were from England, and the other half from the U.S. The group had quite a few people join and leave, but one of the originals, Mick Jones, (not Mick Jagger) stayed the whole time. Foreigner celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2017, with Mick still there.
