[Verse 1]
Salute the sun, I've been sitting here all night long
Hauling rock over Buddha with the Longhorn
Got a hole, rip a pocket off my uniform
With the Blackwatch Boys, get your heads down
Oh-oh, oh-oh (Oh-oh, oh-oh)

[Verse 2]
Duty calls but it's way too late, I'm too far gone
Waiting for Godot, hell, with my pants down
Cracked the stash, sent me crying in the midday sun
I miss my dog and I miss my freedom (Freedom)
Oh-oh, oh-oh (Oh-oh, oh-oh)
Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh (Oh-oh, oh-oh)

[Chorus]
I don't know why they are calling on the radio
They know I'm here just out of sight
Don't know why they are calling on the radio
He's by my side and I know I'm right
I don't know why they are calling on the radio
They know I'm here just out of sight
Don't know why they are calling on the radio
He's by my side and I know I'm right (Know I'm right)

[Verse 3]
I hate the things I think about you when I'm all alone
I know you're tough, but I've been gone for so long
Play the memories of you inside my head
So all these pictures of us burn and radiate

[Verse 4]
Watch the clouds and I'm falling, falling through the cracks
Head beats and the heart is pounding fast
Off the ground into the starry dark
Into your arms I'm falling (Falling, falling)
Oh-oh, oh-oh (Falling, falling)
Oh-oh (Falling, falling), oh-oh, oh-oh (Falling)

[Bridge]
(...Keep on falling)
My brain, my body's fried
I've got to stay alive
I've gotta take a chance and keep on moving
Keep on moving

[Chorus]
I don't know why they are calling on the radio
They know I'm here just out of sight
Don't know why they are calling on the radio
He's by my side and I know I'm right
Don't know why they are calling on the radio
It's on my side and I know I'm right (I see your light from miles away)
Don't know why they are calling on the radio
It's on my side and I know I'm alright

[Outro]
(I see your light from miles away)
Oh-oh, oh-oh (Oh-oh, oh-oh)
(I see your light from miles away)
Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh (Oh-oh, oh-oh)

Garbage

Garbage is a Scottish-American Alternative rock band, formed April 8th 1994. Once producer Butch Vig decided to break out of the rock he had been producing ever since Nirvana’s Nevermind, he got together with his college/studio partners Duke Erikson and Steve Marker to write some demos that would basically be remixes in song form. Once someone commented that “it sounds like garbage”, Vig decided to embrace the name. Then they invited Scottish singer Shirley Manson after seeing her on MTV, and the band’s sound was completed with sly, dark and snarky lyrics delivered in a sultry way.

The band’s eponymous debut album was a surprise hit upon release in August 1995, selling more than 4 million copies worldwide. Follow-up Version 2.0 (1998) was equally successful, even receiving a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. Then the band recorded “The World Is Not Enough” to the eponymous James Bond movie, and the record industry started to bring the band down.

Beautiful Garbage (2001) was barely promoted due to a release too close to the 9/11 attacks, and underperformed at the charts. Fourth album Bleed Like Me (2005) had a troubled production where bandmembers were frequently arguing, and eventually the album’s tour was cut short and Garbage disbanded for 2 years, only regrouped in 2007 to record new tracks for greatest hits compilation Absolute Garbage.
