They're really rockin' in Boston, Pittsburgh, Pa
Deep in the heart of Texas and round the 'Frisco Bay
All over St. Louis and down in New Orleans
Everybody wants to dance with sweet little sixteen

Sweet little sixteen, she's got to have
About half a million framed autographs
Her wallet filled with pictures
She gets them one by one
She gets so excited
Watch her, look at her run

Oh Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, may I go
It's such a sight to see somebody steal the show
Oh Daddy, Daddy, I beg of you
Whisper to Mommy it's alright with you

'Cause they'll be rockin' on Bandstand in Philadelphia, Pa
Deep in the hеart of Texas and round the 'Frisco Bay
All over St. Louis, way down in Nеw Orleans
All the cats wanna dance with sweet little sixteen

Sweet little sixteen, she's got the grown-up blues
Tight dresses and lipstick, sportin' high-heel shoes
Oh but tomorrow morning she'll have to change her trend
And be sweet sixteen and back in class again

'Cause they'll be rockin' on Bandstand in Philadelphia, Pa
Deep in the heart of Texas and round the 'Frisco Bay
All over St.Louis, way down in New Orleans
All the cats wanna dance with sweet little sixteen
All the cats wanna dance with sweet little sixteen

Jerry Lee Lewis

Jerry Lee Lewis was a leading figure in the popularization of rock & roll during the 1950s. He was first signed to Sun Records in 1956 where he was labelmates with Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, and other early rock artists. Of those musicians, however, he was the only piano player and combined with his heavy-handed playing style, sexually suggestive lyrics, and provocative stage antics he came to epitomize the rebelliousness of the genre.

He rose to international fame for his 1957 versions of the songs “Great Balls of Fire” and “Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On.”

Lewis' popularity rapidly tumbled, however, when in 1958, when at the age of 22, he married his 13-year-old cousin. Though this scandal continued to tarnish his image, Lewis never retired from music. As of October 2015, he continues to perform live.
