Have you heard the news?
Everybody's rockin' tonight
Have you heard the news?
Everybody's rockin' tonight

I'm gonna hold my sugar baby
Just as tight as I can
You better know, she's got to know
I'm a mighty, mighty man

Have you heard the news?
Everybody's rockin' tonight

Well then, meet me out behind the barn
C'mon, well baby, I won't do you no harm
Bring along your rockin' shoes
Tonight, I'm gonna rock away all my blues

Have you heard the news?
Everybody's rockin' tonight, yeah

Well, c'mon over, baby
Whole lotta shakin' going on
C'mon over, good lookin'
Meet me at behind the barn
I got news for you, chick
Jerry won't do you no harm

Have you heard the news?
There's good rockin' tonight
Ooh, have you heard the news?
There's good rockin' tonight

Gonna hold my baby
As tight as I can
Tonight, she'll know
I'm a mighty, mighty man

Have you heard the news?
Everybody's rockin' tonight
Oh, let it rock

Well, have you heard the news?
There's good rockin' tonight
Ooh, have you heard the news?
Jerry Lee's rockin' tonight, yeah

I'm gonna hold my baby
As tight as I can
She's gonna know, your better believe
I'm a mighty, mighty man

Have you heard the news?
Everybody's rockin' tonight
Have you heard the news?
Everybody's rockin' tonight

Yeah, have you heard the news?
Everybody's rockin' tonight

Jerry Lee Lewis

Jerry Lee Lewis was a leading figure in the popularization of rock & roll during the 1950s. He was first signed to Sun Records in 1956 where he was labelmates with Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, and other early rock artists. Of those musicians, however, he was the only piano player and combined with his heavy-handed playing style, sexually suggestive lyrics, and provocative stage antics he came to epitomize the rebelliousness of the genre.

He rose to international fame for his 1957 versions of the songs “Great Balls of Fire” and “Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On.”

Lewis' popularity rapidly tumbled, however, when in 1958, when at the age of 22, he married his 13-year-old cousin. Though this scandal continued to tarnish his image, Lewis never retired from music. As of October 2015, he continues to perform live.
