[Verse 1]
How do I get closer to you
When you keep it all on mute?
How will I know the right way to love you?
Usually the queen of figuring out
Breaking down a man is no workout
But I have no clue how to get through to you

[Pre-Chorus 1]
Oh, I wanna hit you just to see if you cry
I keep knocking on wood
Hoping there's a real boy inside

[Chorus]
'Cause you're not a man
You're just a mannequin
I wish you could feel that my love is real
But you're not a man

[Verse 2]
I wish I could just turn you on
Put a battery in, make you talk
Even pull a string, for you to say anything
But with you, there is no guarantee
Only expired warranty
A bunch of broken parts
And I can't seem to find your heart

[Pre-Chorus 2]
Oh, I'm such a fool, I'm such a fool, I'm such a fool
This one's out of my hands
I can't put you back together again

[Chorus]
'Cause you're not a man
You're just a mannequin
I wish you could feel that my love is real, but you're not a man
You're just a toy
Could you ever be a real, real boy and understand?
But you're not a man

[Bridge]
If the past is the problem, our future could solve them, baby
I could bring you to life if you let me inside, baby
It'll hurt, but in the end, you'll be a man

[Breakdown]
You're not a man
You're just a mannequin
I wish you could feel that my love is real, oh
Toy...
Could you ever be a real, real boy?
Understand, but you're not a man

[Outro]
You're not a man
You're just a mannequin
I wish you could feel that my love is real
But you're not a man

Katy Perry

Katheryn Elizabeth “Katy” Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known by her stage name Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter, businesswoman, philanthropist, and actress. She was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. Having had very little exposure to mainstream pop music in her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teen and released her debut self-titled studio album in 2001. She also recorded a second solo album in 2005, (A) Katy Perry, which was scrapped.

Afterwards, Perry (her mother’s maiden name, taken to avert confusion with Kate Hudson) reinvented herself as a party girl pop star, breaking out with 2008’s One of the Boys and the #1 hits “I Kissed a Girl” and “Hot n Cold”.

Follow-up Teenage Dream (2010) equalled Michael Jackson’s record of five chart-toppers on the same album, and made Perry even more ubiquotous in the pop landscape. Following her marriage and eventual divorce from British comedian Russell Brand, she released an updated version, Teenage The Complete Confection and concert film Katy Part of Me in 2012. She released her fourth album, Prism, in 2013, along with some standalone singles, such as “Rise”.
