[Verse 1]
I saw a spider, I didn't scream
'Cause I can belch the alphabet
Just double dog dare me
And I chose guitar over ballet
And I tape these suckers down
'Cause they just get in my way

[Pre-Chorus 1]
The way you look at me
Is kinda like a little sister
You high five your goodbyes
And it leaves me nothing but blisters

[Chorus 1]
So I don't wanna be one of the boys
One of your guys
Just give a chance to prove to you tonight
That I just wanna be one of the girls
Pretty in pearls
Not one of the boys

[Verse 2]
So over the summer, something changed
I started reading Seventeen and shaving my legs
And I studied Lolita religiously
And I walked right in to school and caught you staring at me

[Pre-Chorus 2]
'Cause I know what you know
But now you're gonna have to take a number
It's okay, maybe one day
But not until you give me my diamond ring

[Chorus 2]
'Cause I don’t wanna be one of the boys
One of your guys
Just give me a chance to prove to you tonight
That I just wanna be your homecoming queen
Pin up poster dream
Not one of the boys

[Bridge]
I wanna be a flower, not a dirty weed
I wanna smell like roses, not a baseball team
And I swear maybe one day
You're gonna wanna make out
Make out, make out with me
Don't wanna be (Don't wanna be)
Don't wanna be (Don't wanna be)
Don't wanna be (Don't wanna be)

[Chorus 1]
'Cause I don't wanna be one of the boys
One of your guys
Just gimme a chance to prove to you tonight
That I just wanna be one of the girls
Pretty in pearls
Not one of the boys

Katy Perry

Katheryn Elizabeth “Katy” Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known by her stage name Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter, businesswoman, philanthropist, and actress. She was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. Having had very little exposure to mainstream pop music in her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teen and released her debut self-titled studio album in 2001. She also recorded a second solo album in 2005, (A) Katy Perry, which was scrapped.

Afterwards, Perry (her mother’s maiden name, taken to avert confusion with Kate Hudson) reinvented herself as a party girl pop star, breaking out with 2008’s One of the Boys and the #1 hits “I Kissed a Girl” and “Hot n Cold”.

Follow-up Teenage Dream (2010) equalled Michael Jackson’s record of five chart-toppers on the same album, and made Perry even more ubiquotous in the pop landscape. Following her marriage and eventual divorce from British comedian Russell Brand, she released an updated version, Teenage The Complete Confection and concert film Katy Part of Me in 2012. She released her fourth album, Prism, in 2013, along with some standalone singles, such as “Rise”.
