[Verse 1]
Remember, not long ago
You called me hysterical
I finally figured us out
My fire was hot enough
To burn on for the both of us
And your water keeps puttin' us out

[Pre-Chorus]
And I should be steam
The way you love to rain over me
Then turn around and call me your queen
Too blind to see, the way it stings, the pain it brings

[Chorus]
Didn't I give you everything?
I gave you everything, baby (baby, baby)
Didn't I?
Didn't I give you everything?
You got the best of me, baby (baby, baby)
Didn't I
Hear you cryin' on my shoulder?
Beggin' hold me 'til it's over?
When you're lonely, just remember
I gave you everything
D-d-didn't I?

[Verse 2]
I'm over this tug of war
I've told you so many times before
Now I'm finally lettin' go of the rope, yeah
Well this game is too ugly, boy
And these hands are tired from keepin' you up
And my heart hurts from holdin' out hope

[Pre-Chorus]
And I can't stay clean
With all the dirt you're throwing at me
Then turn around and call me your queen
Too blind to see, the way it stings, or the pain it brings

[Chorus]
Didn't I give you everything?
I gave you everything, baby (baby, baby)
Didn't I?
Didn't I give you everything?
You got the best of me, baby (baby, baby)
Didn't I
Hear you cryin' on my shoulder?
Beggin' hold me 'til it's over?
When you're lonely, just remember
I gave you everything
D-d-didn't I?

[Bridge]
Oh, yeah (Baby)
Didn’t I, didn’t I?
Didn’t I give you everything? (Baby)
Didn’t I, didn’t I, didn’t I?

[Chorus]
Didn't I give you everything?
I gave you everything, baby (baby, baby)
Didn't I?
Didn't I give you everything?
You got the best of me, baby (baby, baby)
Didn't I
Hear you cryin' on my shoulder?
Beggin' hold me 'til it's over?
When you're lonely, just remember
I gave you everything
D-d-didn't I?

[Outro]
Ooh
Didn't I, didn't I?
Didn't I give you everything, baby?
Didn't I, didn't I?
Didn't I give you everything, baby?
Didn't I, didn't I
Didn't I give you everything, baby?
Didn't I, didn't I
Didn't I give you everything?

In 2002, she came to prominence after winning the first season of American Idol, and has since been established as “The Original American Idol”. Her debut single, “A Moment Like This”, topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and broke the record for the biggest jump to number one in the chart’s history.

Clarkson went in a different direction with her self-creatively-controlled third album, My December. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and produced the top-ten single “Never Again.” Her fourth album, All I Ever Wanted debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Lead single “My Life Would Suck Without You” re-broke the record for biggest jump to number one on the Hot 100, jumping 97-1 in its second week on the chart. The record still stands today.
