[Verse 1]
There was nothing on earth that a girl could do
The very first minute that I laid my eyes on you, on you
Turned sheets to the wind, I was all confused
Like burning my money, nothing left to lose
I knew, I was doomed

[Pre-Chorus]
An attraction I just can't explain
But I knew I was never gonna be the same
I'd be lying if I said that I always chose what was good
So where we gonna go in your Shelby '68?

[Chorus]
I know you're gonna break my heart
When I get in your car
Oh, the trouble I'm in when we take that spin
Yeah, I'm in
I know there'll be hell to pay
Baby, I just can't wait
Oh, I'm gonna get high when I take that ride
In your Shelby '68

[Verse 2]
I was rolling with my very own Steve McQueen
We were hitting that road
And I was living the dream
So it seemed
Like a Diamond Bullet in the dead of night, yeah
I knew it was wrong but it felt so right to me
Can't you see?

[Pre-Chorus]
An attraction I just can't explain
But I knew I was never gonna be the same
I'd be lying if I said that I always chose what was good
So where we gonna go in that Shelby '68?

[Chorus]
I know you're gonna break my heart
When I get in your car
Oh, the trouble I'm in when we take that spin
Yeah, I'm in
I know there'll be hell to pay
Baby, I just can't wait
Oh, I'm gonna get high when I take that ride
In your Shelby '68
I just can't wait

[Bridge]
Burn rubber baby, get on with the show
I'll take a ride if it's your rodeo
The horses are wild and I'll cry, but I'm ready to go
Let's go
The longest of days and the starriest nights
Rockin' and rollin' and running those lights
No destination, we're racing, oh baby, just drive, drive
And take me away in your Shelby '68

[Chorus]
I know you're gonna break my heart
When I get in your car
Oh, the trouble I'm in when we take that spin
Yeah, I'm in
I know there'll be hell to pay
Baby, I just can't wait
Oh, I'm gonna get high when I take that ride
In your Shelby '68

[Outro]
Ooh, I just can't wait
There'll be hell to pay
Take me away
Shelby '68

Kylie Minogue

Kylie Minogue is an Australian singer, songwriter, and actress. Often referred to as the Goddess of Pop with a career spanning over 30 years, she has transformed from girl-next-door soap star to ‘90s pop starlet, and short-lived indie darling to bona fide superstar.

Kylie earned her first big break on the Australian soap opera Neighbours, playing tomboy mechanic Charlene Mitchell. An on-screen romance with Jason Donovan – who played Scott Robinson – blossomed into a real-life relationship, and their wedding on the soap drew in millions of viewers. However, her real ambition was a successful career in music, and by 1988 her debut album, Kylie, was released, reaching #1 in the UK and Australia. Notching up 10 UK Top 3 singles by 1993, she was one of the defining popstars of the early ‘90s. Her follow-ups to the debut album – Enjoy Yourself, Rhythm of Love and Let’s Get To It – all reached the Top 15 in the UK.

With a blossoming relationship with late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence, Kylie was encouraged to be more ambitious with her image and sound. As such, she left her former label, PWL, and released the daring “Confide In Me” in early 1994. Critics praised her re-invention, and the single restored the success she had somewhat lost with her previous album. Impossible Princess was another critical success but failed to make much of an impact on the charts, which led some media outlets to believe that her “15 minutes of fame” were over.
