[USNAVI]
When you talk about his pops
The conversation stops
The head drops
As Benny contemplates his fatherless existence
See daddy took the path of least resistance
Left mommy and Benny on public assistance
And Benny remembers the night like it was yesterday
Daddy screaming at mom
“Alma! There’s nothing left to say
I gave you the prom of my life, threw the rest away
I gotta go. Give the kid the best, okay?”
Benny’s witnessing the drama
Through a crack in the door
He sees his beautiful mama, Alma
Collapse to the floor
She’s screaming
“How much more, Señor, can I possibly take?”
And she notices her only son
Crying and wide awake
She told him

[ALMA]
Benny look in my eyes
We better have a little conversation
I wanna say this right
I know you heard my cries
Baby, I wanna tell you it's okay son
There will never be another fight

I know you love your mama
Even when I’m insane
And through the drama and the pain
I’ve put you through
You know I love you
And I will always love you
I don’t care what you do
Just know that everything I’m telling you
Is gospel true

Never give your heart away
There are people out there
Who will betray you and play you
Put your little heart away
And save it for yourself
You deserve it
'Cause you’re the only one
You’ll ever need
Who’s worth your love

Baby your daddy’s gone
He and I had a little situation
I don’t know what went wrong…
I know you’re sad he’s gone
He’s never coming back from this vacation
You and I are moving on
I know you love your father
Even through all your pain
He’ll never bother us again
He’s out the door
He won’t be back no more
He’s never coming back
Don’t look at me like that!
I know you’ll miss him
But listen

Never give your heart away
There are lovers out there
Who will desert you and hurt you
Baby this is hard to say
But I’m gonna raise you right
I don’t care how
And you will never
Feel the endless pain I feel right now
Ay dios!
