[Intro]
I don't care

[Verse 1]
Uh, high school prom, did you give it up? I don't give a damn
Whether you prefer girls' night out or chillin' with the fam
If it's dirt upon your name, if they flirted with a dame
I'ma still feel the same way, I do
Baby, I'm still on you, woah
Tell me why would I worry 'bout dudes that you knew?
Before me and you
If any of 'em had the sauce, then you wouldn't be my boo, yeah

[Pre-Chorus]
Baby, I ain't squeaky clean, girl, in any way
Skeletons in my closet take up hella space
But that don't mean that we can't be happy
So hear me clear when I say

[Chorus]
Everybody got a past so the past don't matter (ooh, yeah, ooh)
Baby, everybody's story got a few back chapters (ooh, ooh)
Baby, right now in the future I ain't tryna move backward (ooh, ooh), no, no
Baby, everybody's story got a few back chapters, oh, uh

[Post-Chorus]
I ain't trippin', I ain't trippin', babe
(I ain't trippin', I ain't trippin', babe)
I ain't trippin', I ain't trippin', babe
(I ain't trippin', I ain't trippin', baby)
I ain't trippin', I ain't trippin', baby, yeah, yeah
Oh, woah

[Verse 2]
Uh, the negativity in my past only made me who I am (am)
But you don't judge me, you just love me and take care of the fam
You wasn't worried 'bout the fame (fame), all you wanted was my name (my name)
Girl, I know you feel the same way I do (same way I do)
Baby, I'm still on you, woah
Tell me why would I worry 'bout dudes (why would I worry 'bout dudes) sexin' you, before I even knew
When I know, I was out there runnin' through 'em like straight fools, yeah

[Pre-Chorus]
Baby, I ain't squeaky clean, girl, in any way (oh no)
Skeletons in my closet take up hella space (take up hella space)
But that don't mean that we can't be happy
So hear me clear when I say

[Chorus]
Everybody got a past so the past don't matter (ooh, yeah, ooh)
Baby, everybody's story got a few back chapters (hey, everybody's story got a few back chapters, oh)
Baby, right now in the future I ain't tryna move backward, oh, no, no, no, no, no, no
Baby, everybody's story got a few back chapters, oh (a few back chapters, yeah)

[Post-Chorus]
Uh, I ain't trippin', I ain't trippin', babe, I ain't trippin'

[Bridge]
Baby, what it was before me ('fore me)
Who it was before me ('fore me)
All of that was before me ('fore me)
So I don't care
Girl, I'm lookin' at the future
I don't care what you used to do
Long as now it's me and you, you, you, you

[Chorus]
Everybody got a past so the past don't matter (ooh oh, ooh)
Baby, everybody's story got a few back chapters (a few back chapters, oh, oh)
Baby, right now in the future I ain't tryna move backward (I ain't trying, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no)
Baby, everybody's story got a few back chapters, oh (da da da da do, da da da da do)

[Outro]
I don't care
