[Verse 1]
She's holding her breath like she’s scared of it leaving
She's biting her tongue like I did last night
I said sorry but she just came closer and whispered
"It hurts pretty bad but it tastes kind of nice"
'Cause Love’s got an evil twin sister named Power
Who sticks by her side everywhere that she goes
You give somebody one, then you give them the other
So pleasе understand if I'd rather keep both
'Cause thеre's no part of me that can't be torn apart
If you're not ready to leave, then I'll take the head start

[Verse 2]
I've put too much trust in feelings for too much of my life
I convinced myself to love you before you had even tried
And now look where you are, curled up underneath your sheets
Teary-eyed, waiting for me
To pop up on your phone, it’s another night wasted
If you want control, well, then why don’t you take it?

When you don't get what you want, you start forgetting what you need
You do what you can to prove that you’re still relevant to me
I'm the fish that takes the bait just to be taken for a ride
If there's one thing that you've taught me, it’s that love is just a fight
Between a bug and a boot, so c'mon, choose your fighter
If you'll be the moth, I guess I'll be the lighter

[Chorus]
And times change like a compass
I'm turning away from this
There's more fish in the sea
Most of which have not hurt me
You passed by like a comet
You rolled through quick like Sonic
Now you want me to stay
A couple hundred miles too late

[Verse 3]
I didn't say yes, I didn't say no
When you asked if she's mine but I'm sure that you noticed
The change in my eyes, the change in my manner
The distaste for me that you wave like a banner
Seems to disappear when you start to play sober
To tell me you're sorry, you've thought it all over

[Chorus]
But times change like a compass
I'm turning away from this
There's more fish in the sea
Most of which have not hurt me
You passed by like a comet
You run through quick like Sonic
Now you want me to stay
A couple hundred miles too late

Ritt Momney

Ritt Momney (originally called the spooks) is the indie solo project of Salt Lake City native Jack Rutter.

Under the name the spooks, Ritt Momney released their first single, Cold, which gained popularity in the hallways of Highland High School in Salt Lake City, Utah in the spring of 2016. The original members were Jack Rutter, his now ex-girlfriend Lindsey Lloyd, and friends Auden Winchester, Hank Thompson, Zach Olson, and Chris Kearl.

Beginning as an indie rock band comprised of high school friends, the project became a personal outlet for Rutter after his bandmates left on Latter-Day Saint missions and his girlfriend left for college. In his bedroom, he began writing, recording, and producing his upcoming debut LP, entitled “Her and All of My Friends,” in which Rutter grapples with loss, loneliness, and his drift away from Utah Latter-Day Saint culture. Nowadays, the band’s members often come and go, leaving Jack Rutter at the center of it all. Besides Rutter, there is no ‘official’ set of band members.
