I like a man in uniform
I like a man to keep me warm
Between sweet love and control it's a thin line

I like a man in uniform
I like a man in uniform
In fatigues and khaki battledress sublime

Hold your hero up high
Never let him fall from the sky
Hold your hero up high
Let him make you moan but never cry

I had a man in uniform
Yeah, he was strict, but he was warm
Always dressed up ready to observe the rights

I love that man in uniform
I love that man, but now he's gone
Now I found I only dream in black and white

Love can wear the face of score
You know sometimes it can do you harm
With rusty sword and frosty lullaby

Hold your hero up high
Never let him fall from the sky
Hold your hero up high
Let him make you moan but never cry

Love can wear the face of score
You know sometimes it can do you harm
Love can wear the face of score
With frosty words its lullaby

Hold your hero up high
Never let him fall from the sky
Hold your hero up high
Let him make you moan but never cry

Shakespears Sister

Shakespear’s Sister is a pop-rock duo formed in 1988 by Siobhan Fahey, who left Bananarama after disagreements with the musical direction the band was going. The band was originally intended to be Fahey’s solo project, but immediately became a duo after she recruited American singer Marcella Detroit (aka Marcy Levy).
