When I die
There'll be no sky
No flowers or rain
Just sunshine on a grave
But there will always be you, my love
You raise me high above

'Cause we've had sweet love
Complete love
And forever sweet love
Complete love
Never, never give it up
Never, never give it up

No need to cry
My heart's standing by
You will always be mine
And I'm yours for all time

Yes, we've had sweet love
Complete love
Let me tell it, sweet love
Complete love
Never, never give it up, no no
Never, never give it up

I look over the ocean
Into a deep starry sky
And then all the time I've known you
I never had to wonder why

'Cause we've had sweet love
Complete love
And forever sweet love
Complete love
Never, never give it up
Never, never give it up, oh no
Never, never give it up
Never, never give it up, no, no, no

Simply Red

Simply Red is a British soul and pop band. The first incarnation of the band was a punk group called The Frantic Elevators, whose seven-year run produced limited releases on local labels and ended in 1984 upon critical acclaim for their final single, “Holding Back the Years”.

By early 1985, Mick Hucknall and manager Elliot Rashman had assembled a band of local session musicians and begun to attract record company attention. The group adopted the name “Red” (after Hucknall’s nickname, denoting his hair colour) but then Mick decided it would sound better with the addition of the word ‘Simply.’

Since the mid 1980s, the band has sold more than 50 million albums.
