[Verse 1]
Read my mind, got me at a stop light
Start me up, then you make a stop like
Why you gotta put me in the spotlight?
But you don't even ever hit the spot right
You're always riding my wave (Riding, riding, riding, riding)
But never riding through

[Chorus]
You get me up to let me down
One too many times to count
Why you gotta do that? (Why?)
You're the one who blew that
Make it tough to get it out
You're done but I'm ready now
Why you gotta do that? (Why?)
You're the one who blew that

[Post-Chorus 1]
Every time you come you do
Every time you come you do

[Verse 2]
Call me up to comfort you and now I'm like
"Baby, it's already been a long night"
Keep playing it cool but it's time to change the mood
Get to moving or you can move along
Stuck inside of your cage (I'm stuck right now)
I play your game to lose over and over

[Chorus]
You get me up to let me down
One too many times to count
Why you gotta do that? (Why?)
You're the one who blew that
Make it tough to get it out
You're done but I'm ready now
Why you gotta do that? (Why?)
You're the one who blew that

[Post-Chorus 2]
I really thought you knew
Every time you come you leave me blue

[Bridge]
Something inside me is swimming
Thought you did something you didn't
Soon as I hit the beginning
Is when you reached the end
Something inside me is swimming
Thought you did something you didn't
Soon as I hit the beginning
Is when you reached the end

[Chorus]
You get me up to let me down
One too many times to count
Why you gotta do that? (Why?)
You're the one who blew that
Make it tough to get it out
You're done but I'm ready now
Why you gotta do that? (Why?)
You're the one who blew that

[Outro]
I really thought you knew
Every time you come you leave me
I really thought you knew
Every time you come you leave me blue

The Neighbourhood

Hailing from Newbury Park, California, upstart indie band The Neighbourhood finds its influences as diverse as hip-hop (where lead vocalist Jesse Rutherford had his musical beginnings) and the classic black and white aesthetic that often dominates their music videos and outfits. The current members are Jesse, Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels (guitarists), Mikey Margott (bassist), and Brandon Fried (drummer). The Neighbourhood is often abbreviated to “The NBHD.” The band are easily recognisable by their signature upside-down house logo, which is tattooed on every band member.

With the release of the extended plays Thank You, and I’m Sorry…, the band accumulated a wide range of fandom appreciation.

Following the rising success of their hit single “Sweater Weather,” the band released their debut album in 2013 entitled I Love You. to a far wider popularity than that which preceded them. The band have also gained traction over the years by touring with artists like Travis Scott, Danny Brown, Imagine Dragons and Charli XCX.
