[Intro]
May— many of you may have lost someone close to you
I know that I certainly have, and, uh
I've been singin' this song lately, I've been thinking about that
So if there's, uh
Someone in your life that you wanna remember, acknowledge
You know, hold up your phone and shine that light to, uh
To remember that person
Anyway, here— here it is
This song's called "Gone Away"

[Verse 1]
Maybe in another life
I could find you there
Pulled away before your time
I can't deal, it's so unfair

[Chorus]
And it feels, and it feels like
Hеaven's so far away
And it feels, yeah, it feels like
Thе world has grown cold now that you've gone away

[Verse 2]
Leaving flowers on your grave
To show that I still care
Black roses and Hail Marys
Can't bring back what's taken from me

[Pre-Chorus]
I reach to the sky and call out your name
And if I could trade, I would

[Chorus]
And it feels, and it feels like
Heaven's so far away
And it stings, yeah, it stings now
The world is so cold now that you've gone away

[Post-Chorus]
Now that you've gone away

[Pre-Chorus]
I reach to the sky and call out your name
And if I could trade, I would

[Chorus]
And it feels, and it feels like
Heaven's so far away
And it feels, yeah, it feels like
The world has grown cold now that you've gone away

The Offspring

The Offspring is an American punk rock band from Huntington Beach, California, formed in 1984. The current line-up of the band Brian Keith “Dexter” Holland (vocals, guitar), Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman (lead guitar), Greg “Greg K.” Kriesel (bass), and Pete Parada (drums).

The Offspring is currently one of the biggest punk rock acts, along with the likes of Green Day, Rancid, and Sublime, all of which come from California. The Offspring and other groups are credited for reviving main-stream punk rock, though it isn’t as popular as it was in the ‘80s.
