[Verse 1]
There's a moment in time, and it's stuck in my mind
Way back, when we were just kids
’Cause your eyes told the tale of an act of betrayal
I knew that somebody did

[Pre-Chorus 1]
Oh, waves of time
Seem to wash away the scenes of our crimes
For you, this never ends

[Chorus]
Can you stay strong? Can you go on?
Kristy, are you doing okay?
A rose that won't bloom, winter's kept you
Don't waste your whole life trying
To get back what was taken away

[Verse 2]
Though the marks on your dress had been neatly repressed
I knew that something was wrong
And I should've spoke out, and I'm so sorry now
I didn't know, ’cause we were so young

[Pre-Chorus 2]
Oh, clouds of time
Seem to rain on innocence left behind
It never goes away

[Chorus]
Can you stay strong? Can you go on?
Kristy, are you doing okay?
A rose that won't bloom, winter's kept you
Don't waste your whole life trying
To get back what was taken away

[Pre-Chorus 2]
Oh, clouds of time
Seem to rain on innocence left behind
It never goes away
It never goes away

[Chorus]
Can you stay strong? Can you go on?
Kristy, are you doing okay?
A rose that won't bloom, winter's kept you
Don't waste your whole life trying
To get back what was taken away
Don't waste your whole life trying
To get back what was taken away

The Offspring

The Offspring is an American punk rock band from Huntington Beach, California, formed in 1984. The current line-up of the band Brian Keith “Dexter” Holland (vocals, guitar), Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman (lead guitar), Greg “Greg K.” Kriesel (bass), and Pete Parada (drums).

The Offspring is currently one of the biggest punk rock acts, along with the likes of Green Day, Rancid, and Sublime, all of which come from California. The Offspring and other groups are credited for reviving main-stream punk rock, though it isn’t as popular as it was in the ‘80s.
