I used to wear chequered flared trousers
And shoes held in place by "lackey" bands
My mum cut my hair very badly
Fingernails bitten down my hands
I gave away all my pocket money
To stop my sister from crying all day
My proudest moment was getting a "Chopper" bike
The swing in my garden is where I'd fly away

Life was simple
Life was hard
Sometimes scary
Rarely fun
Life was "Seasons In The Sun"
When I lived at 331

I can't believe we had an outside "lavvy"
Where cats and rats used to pass by and stare
Saucepans were boiling on the gas stove
To fill a tin bath we all used to share
My Dad had the chair in the parlour
And I knew my place on the floor
Bedtime was always 6.30
You never argued or you'd get his "What For"

I would dream of somewhere better
Make believe that we had more
