[Verse 1]
My nose is burning
Too much cocaine
Got cut in Brooklyn
With gasoline, bagged up with cellophane
I'm in need of moderation
Nah, I need a fucking break
'Cause I just railed down enough lines tonight
To spell your first and last name
I miss the ocean
And I know it's weird to say
I grew up there, moved to LA
It's only thirty minutes
405 to PCH
But half an hour feels forever and a fucking day

[Chorus]
And it's all because I dreamt of you
And woke up alone
What a wonderful tone
To bring you back home

[Verse 2]
My soul is burning
Need Jesus Christ
My mom’s unhappy with all the choices I’ve been making with my life
I don't even fucking care though
I'm probably gonna die
Like everybody else
Is that such a fucking lie?
And I swear to God
If the alcohol and drugs don't kill me
I don't know what will
Other than you

[Chorus]
And it's all because I dreamt of you
And woke up alone
And when friends hit my phone
All they want's a repost
It's all because I dreamt of you
And woke up alone
What a wonderful tone
To bring you back home

blackbear

blackbear is the stage name of LA-based producer and singer-songwriter Mat Musto, popularly known for co-writing Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend,” in 2012. Some of his first collaborations were with the likes of Pharrell Williams, MGK, and Childish Gambino. Later, Musto reinvented himself—he coined the name blackbear from a previous EP titled Year of the Blackbear. Under his new name, he started leaning more towards rapping and an R&B-oriented style.

His first mixtape Sex included collaborations with his peers James Blake, Maejor Ali, and “Boyfriend” co-writer Mike Posner. The Afterglow followed in 2014.

In 2015, blackbear released “idfc,” as the lead single from his debut album Deadroses. It increased his fan following and revenue, earning him millions of playback streams and a spot on Billboard’s Uncharted List of Undiscovered and Upcoming Artists. The second single, “90210,” included a feature from G-Eazy—blackbear made an appearance in his 2014 track, “Remember You.”
