[Spoken Intro: Nicci Gilbert & Gordon Chambers]
Gordon, that's really pretty
Thank you
We should try singing those lyrics we wrote in New York
Which song?
"Half of You"
Oh yeah, let's try that
Be kinda dope, right?
And we gon' get Mimi and Maxee to help us on some background
Y'all gon' do that?
Y'all better sing
Sing, brother
Sing

[Verse 1: Nicci Gilbert]
Now and then
I wonder where you are and where you've been
We were friends
But deep inside my heart, I always knew
I only needed one not two
I wish that I could say the same for you
Every day
I kept you oh so dear and close to my heart
I was yours
I thought that you were mine
Right from the start
We made a vow to be as one
But you played your games
Put our love to shame
And now the magic's gone

[Chorus: Nicci GIlbert]
I never wanted half of you
Sharing you will just not do
Gotta be, one on one, or it won't be done
You said you wanted all of me
Why couldn't it be two not three?
It's too late
I won't take half of you

[Verse 2: Nicci Gilbert]
Since you've gone
I've had some time to think about my life
And now I, I know that I won't make that mistake twice
So there's no need for you to call
I found another man (Oh yeah)
One who understands (Oh yeah)
The woman that I am

[Chorus: Nicci GIlbert]
I never wanted half of you
Sharing you will just not do
Gotta be (Gotta be), one on one (One on one)
Or it won't be done
You said you wanted all of me
Why couldn't it be two not three?
It's too late
I won't take half of you

[Bridge: Nicci Gilbert & Gordon Chambers]
Oh yeah
Sing sweet baby
Sing it to me my baby
Ooh
Just wanna say that I'm sorry
I gotta say that I'm sorry
Sing, sing, sing
But I promise you
If you take me back
I'll be a better man
Sorry, found another man (No)
One who understands (No)
The woman that I am (No, no, no)
The woman that I am (Oh)

[Chorus: Nicci Gilbert & Gordon Chambers]
Never wanted half of you (No, baby)
Sharing will just not do (Gimme one more chance)
Gotta be, one on one (One on one)
Or it won't be done (I'm done with doin' it to ya, baby)
You said you wanted all of me (All of me, yeah)
Why couldn't it be two not three?
It's too late
I won't take half of you (Of you)
Of you (Of you)
Of you (Of you)

[Outro: Brownstone & Gordon Chambers]
It's too late
I won't take half of
You
Ooh
Ooh
Of you, baby

[Outro dialogue]
Is this album finished yet?
I think it is
Yeah, but before we check out
We need to thank some very, very special people
Yep
Without them none of this would be possible
That's for sure
That's right
To Jerry and Michael
To Doris, Leslie and Jono
Marla and Linda
David and Bernard
And to all our families
And everybody, I mean everybody who believed in Brownstone
From the bottom up
Peace, y'all
Thank you
Bye

Brownstone

Brownstone is an female R&B trio that came to fame in the mid-90’s. The original members of the group were Nicci Gilbert, Monica “Mimi” Doby, and Charmayne “Maxee” Maxwell.

They released their debut album From The Bottom Up on Michael Jackson’s MJJ Music label. It featured the #1 R&B smash “If You Love Me”.

Before recording their second album Still Climbing, they replaced Monica “Mimi” Doby with Kina Cosper. The second album yielded a solid hit in “5 Miles To Empty”, but the group disbanded before a third album could materialize.
