Take a smile
And hold it longer
Take a tear
And let it roll down
Take a heart this ol' heart
And make it stronger
Cause we all have to lose in love sometime

Take tonight
And make it brighter
Take my hand
And don't let go
Cause I know you've changed changed your mind
So you better go to her
Cause we all have a right to change our mind sometimes
And we all have to lose in love sometime

And so tonight's another broken heart
In a chain that never ends
Take this broken heart
And help me mend it again

Take a smile
And hold it longer
Take a tear
And let it roll down
Take a heart this ol' heart
And make it stronger
Cause we all have to lose in love sometime
