[Verse 1]
Focus, come on
Why you make it hard for me?
Take your time, babe
I ain't in a rush to leave
You always leave me broken-hearted
Never finish what you started
Focus, come on
Why you make it hard?

[Pre-Chorus]
But all I want is just, just one thing
I'm not asking for no ring
Just take me on a date
A real date...
Is all I'm tryin' to say

[Chorus]
Every girl could tell you it's the same thing
Men can only focus on one thing
No matter how hard they try
They only focus on one thing, hey
And even when they say they gonna love you
They never really know what they gon' do
No matter how hard they try
They only focus on one thing

[Verse 2]
Flowers, candy
It's not like I ask for much
And I'm not a teacher
I can't teach you how to love
But why you leave me broken-hearted?
You never finish what you started
Focus, come on
Why you make it hard?

[Pre-Chorus]
All I want is just, just one thing
I'm not asking for no ring
Just take me on a date
A real date...
Is all I'm tryin' to say

[Chorus]
Every girl could tell you it's the same thing
Men can only focus on one thing
No matter how hard they try
They only focus on one thing, hey
And even when they say they gonna love you
They never really know what they gon' do
No matter how hard they try
They only focus on one thing

[Instrumental Bridge]

[Chorus]
Every girl could tell you it's the same thing
Men can only focus on one thing
No matter how hard they try
They only focus on one thing, hey
And even when they say they gonna love you
They never really know what they gon' do
No matter how hard they try
They only focus on one thing
Every girl could tell you it's the same thing
Men can only focus on one thing
No matter how hard they try
They only focus on one thing, hey
And even when they say they gonna love you
They never really know what they gon' do
No matter how hard they try
They only focus on one thing

Meghan Trainor

Meghan Trainor is a pop singer-songwriter from Nantucket. Before launching her solo career, she wrote songs for the likes of Sia and Sabrina Carpenter. She entered pop stardom with the controversial but danceable body-positivity anthem “All About That Bass,” which led her 2015 debut LP, Title.

In 2016, Meghan released her sophomore effort Thank You, which was preceded by the smash single “NO.” Peaking at #3 on the Hot 100, top 20 track “Me Too” & the reggae-influenced “Better” supported the release of the album.

Staying reasonably quiet in 2017, Trainor dropped the single “I’m A Lady” for the “The The Lost Village.” Trainor underwent vocal surgery during the year and needed time to rest her voice before returning to the limelight.
