[Verse 1]
Somewhere back in time
You became a friend of mine
And day by day we've grown a little closer
You're my spirit to be strong
A friend when things go wrong
So I've written down these words to let you know

[Chorus]
Love's grown deep, deep into the heart of me
You've become a part of me (part of me)
Let us plant the seeds and watch it grow
Love's grown deep, deep into the heart of me
You've become a part of me, oh

[Verse 2]
As we travel down the road
Side-by-side we'll share the load
Hand-in-hand we'll see each other through
Though we've only just begun
Let's count our blessings one-by-one
And thank God for life, I thank God for you, oh

[Chorus]
Love's grown deep, deep into the heart of me
You've become a part of me (part of me)
Let us plant the seed and watch it grow
Love's grown deep, deep into the heart of me
You've become a part of me, oh

[Bridge]
And as the seasons slip away
Forever lovers we will stay
Together, do-or-die, with all our hearts

[Chorus]
Love's grown deep, deep into the heart of me
You've become a part of me (part of me)
Let us plant the seed and watch it grow
Love's grown deep, deep into the heart of me
You've become a part of me now, oh

Love's grown deep, deep into the heart of me
You've become a part of me (part of me)
Let us plant the seed and watch it grow
Love's grown deep, deep into the heart of me
You've become a...
You've become a...
You've become a part of me

Love's grown deep, deep into the heart of me
You've become a part of me (part of me)
Let us plant the seed and watch it grow
Love's grown deep, deep into the heart of me
You've become a part of me, oh

Shalamar

Shalamar is an American R&B and soul music vocal group, active in the mid-1970s and throughout the 1980s. Their original lineup consisted of Jeffrey Daniel, Jody Watley, and Gary Mumford. The group went through various lineup changes throughout the years, with Mumford replaced by Gerald Brown, and again by Howard Hewett. The lineup of Daniel, Hewett, and Watley was the most successful, selling two Platinum albums (Three For Love, Friends) and one Gold album (Big Fun).

Despite more lineup changes in the ‘80s, the group still churned out hits such as “Dancing in the Sheets” and “Don’t Get Stopped in Beverly Hills”, which won them a Grammy.

Daniel, Hewett, and Watley eventually reunited several times in the ‘90s and as recently as 2015, playing in the UK where they’ve had the most success.
