[Verse 1: Timeflies]
I got the place
If you got the time
I got the girl
She hashtag mine
I got the world
So you know I’m trying
To show you this time
Well it flies like
I don’t know if you
Still won’t go
I don’t get what you want
So, baby, I’m gone
Make this cheese on my own
I’m kinda a provoloner
Girls do it for free
Yes, it’s pro-boner
Drinking ice tea like, Arizona
And they in the back screaming louder than Chad Kroeger
Must have been lying if I said I was sober
Looking at you, man, I don’t know you
Uh, but I’ll show you
I said, girl, I’ll show you!

[Hook: Lorde]
And we'll never be royals (royals)
It don't run in our blood
That kind of luck's just ain't for us
We crave a different kind of buzz
Let me be your ruler (ruler)
You can call me queen Bee
And baby I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule
Let me live that fantasy

[Interlude: Timeflies]
Yeah, we could be royal!

[Verse 2: Timeflies]
Traded a four door for a tour bus
And a desk job for a chorus
I said you can’t ignore us
These people they came here for us
I show you everything
If you don’t just tell the truth
And you never going to win if you don’t believe in you
Yes, mine, its mine. I tell you all the time
When I get it on the free I told you I could rhyme
And they know, that I’m the lord
Are you sure?
I got the cure and I keep it so pure
And they get it, well, that my rhyme in supply
That’s coal over years now a diamond supply
And that’s my royal; I show you we’re royal

[Hook: Lorde]

[Verse 3: Timeflies]
We ain’t caught up
Because that’s the way we’re brought up
Society tells us. Hell no, that’s not us!
But look at me, locally dope. Internationally known
And there ain’t a place to go that I can’t call home
Yeah going to get it like me, like me. Yeah because it just might be
Take it as far as the eye can see
And I told you that we could dream!
Now we’ll always be royals

[Hook: Lorde]

Timeflies

The duo Timeflies combines pop songwriting styles with the studio tricks and big sound of EDM. Members Rob Resnick (producer) and Cal Shapiro (vocals) first met while playing in the Ride, a funk band that gigged around Tufts University. They formed Timeflies in 2010, and a year later self-released their debut album, The Scotch Tape (the title a reference to Shapiro’s love of drinking). On the Internet, Timeflies Tuesday soon became a regular feature of the band’s video-sharing channel, with popular charting hits all getting the unique Timeflies treatment. With subscriptions to the channel climbing at a quick rate, the Island/Def Jam label signed them and released their One Night EP in late 2012. The single “I Choose U” followed in 2013. Additional recording in their transplanted studio home of Los Angeles continued during the rest of the year. In 2014, Timeflies returned with their sophomore album, After Hours. The album debuted at number eight on Billboard’s Top 200 chart, buoyed by the singles “All the Way” and “Somebody Gon Get It” featuring T-Pain. The duo’s third full-length album, Just for Fun, appeared in the fall of 2015, including the singles “Worse Things Than Love” (featuring Natalie La Rose) and “Guilty.” The single “Once in a While” appeared in 2016. Their latest single, “Lay Me Down”, was released on 2 May 2017 for their upcoming album.
