[Verse 1]
Well the moon is broken
And the sky is cracked
Come on up to the house
The only thing that you can see
Is all that you lack
So come on up to the house
And all your crying don't do no good
Come on up to the house
Come down off the cross
We can use the wood
Come on up to the house

[Chorus]
Come on up to the house
Well, come on up to the house
This world is not my home
I'm just passing through
So come on up to the house

[Verse 2]
There's no light in the tunnel
No irons in the fire
Come on up to the house
And your singing lead soprano
In a junk-man's choir
You gotta come on up to the house
Does life seem nasty, brutish and short
Come on up to the house
The seas are stormy
And you can't find no port
Just come on up to the house

[Chorus]

[Verse 3]
There ain't nothing in the world
That you can do
Come on up to the house
You been whipped by the forces
That are inside you
So just come on up to the house
Well you're high on top
Of your mountain of woe
Come on up to the house
Well you know you should surrender
But you just can't let go
You gotta come on up to the house

[Chorus]

[Outro]
Come on up to the house
Come on up to the house

Willie Nelson

Willie Hugh Nelson (April 29, 1933) is a singer-songwriter and musician. He was born in Abbott, TX and raised by his grandparents during the great Depression.

He achieved some success in the early 60’s as a crooner, a la Bobby Darin, but turned away from popular music to Country in the late 60s. His albums Shotgun Willie (1973), Red Headed Stranger (1975) and Stardust (1978) made him one of the most recognized artists in country music.

Nelson has released over 70 studio and live albums in his career, and still records and performs today.
