[Verse 1]
We're on the right track, I can feel it
I came alive first day that we met
I know what everybody’s talking 'bout
Wanna say it loud and proud
Got me feeling confident, yeah (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
You make my heartbeat work overtime (Work overtime)
I want your body right over mine (Right over mine)
So won't you cover me like full eclipse?
Can’t remember loneliness
Got me feeling delicate, yeah (Yeah, yeah, yeah)

[Chorus]
This is what they say
Falling in love is supposed to feel like
This is what they say
Falling in love is supposed to feel like
Feels like, never gon' be the same
Feels like, never gon' be the same
This is what they say
Falling in love is supposed to feel like

[Verse 2]
I like it to give it as good as I get (Good as I get)
Don't be surprised if this is the best (This is the best)
I'm always falling for your open mind
Love the way you open mine
Sweatin' like it's summertime, yeah (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
And when you hear me calling your name (Calling your name)
It's always different, never the same (Never the same)
And every morning, when I wake you up
Sugar, you won’t need a cup
You got me feeling confident, yeah (Yeah, yeah, yeah)

[Chorus]
This is what they say
Falling in love is supposed to feel like
This is what they say
Falling in love is supposed to feel like
Feels like, never gon’ be the same (I got you now)
Feels like, never gon' be the same (I got you now)
This is what they say
Falling in love is supposed to feel like

[Bridge]
Ah, ah
This is what they say
Ah, ah
This is what they say
Can’t look back at broken pieces
Of the hearts we broke, we broke for reasons
No, I can't look back at broken pieces
Of the hearts we broke, we broke for reasons

[Chorus]
This is what they say (No, I can't look back at broken pieces)
Falling in love is supposed to feel like (Of the hearts we broke, we broke for reasons)
This is what they say (No, I can't look back at broken pieces)
Falling in love is supposed to feel like (Of the hearts we broke, we broke for reasons)
Feels like, never gon’ be the same (No, I can't look back at broken pieces)
Feels like, never gon' be the same (Of the hearts we broke, we broke for reasons)
This is what they say (No, I can't look back at broken pieces)
Falling in love is supposed to feel like (Of the hearts we broke, we broke for reasons)

[Outro]
No, I

Carly Rae Jepsen

Carly Rae Jepsen is a Canadian singer and songwriter. Born in 1985, she first came to fame by finishing in third place on the TV show Canadian Idol. Shortly afterwards, she released her debut album, Tug Of War, including the Canadian top 40 singles “Tug Of War” and “Bucket.”

Three years later, she released the single “Call Me Maybe” and planned to follow it with what would have been her second album, Curiosity. However, after the song caught the ear of fellow Canadian, Justin Bieber, he referred her to his manager, Scooter Braun, which led to her signing an international deal with Interscope Records. Before long, it became one of 2012’s most enduring hits, racking up over a billion YouTube views and topping the charts in 21 countries, including the US and Canada. The aforementioned Curiosity album was cut down to EP length, and work continued on her eventual sophomore LP, Kiss. Released in September 2012, it also featured the Owl City collaboration “Good Time”, which reached #8 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Jepsen returned in March 2015 with “I Really Like You,” the lead single from her third studio album. The song received a more muted reception than her breakout hit–although it did reach #2 in the United Kingdom–and consequently, the album, E•MO•TION, failed to make a substantial impact chartwise. Despite this, the album drew in a new wave of fans with its more experimental and mature sound; such was the amount of praise among both the public and critics that a follow-up EP of album outtakes–E•MO• Side B–was released on the album’s first anniversary.
