The feeling we used to get
Whenever our lives met
Like smoke from a cigarette
It's fading away (Fading away)
Fading away

It hurts me to think about
Those times when there was no doubt
Like a cloud when the sun comes out
It's fading away
(Fading away)
It's fading away

You've changed and it's showing, Baby
(You're changing in your heart)
You've changed and it's showing
I wanna know
(It's changing in my soul)
Where did our love go

If I could have just one wish
If things hadn't come to this
Like the memory of our first kiss
It's fading away, mm
(Fading away)
Oh, fading away

Like the smoke from your cigarette
A dream that you soon forget
It's not like the day we met
It's fading away, Ooh, it's (Fading away)
Oh, it's fading away
And -

I wanna know if you're all right
I just want you to be all right
All right

'Cause it's fading away forever
(You're changing in your heart)
It's fading away, yeah
(It's changing in my soul)
Ooh, it's fading away
(Where did our love go)

Ooh, it's fading away
(You're changing in your heart)
You've changed, all right. Baby, oh

(It's changing in my soul)
I understand
(Where did our love go)
Everybody changes
Mm, but it's fading
Gotta understand that it's fading away
Are you all right
Fading away......

Hall & Oates

Hall & Oates released the first of their 18 albums in 1972 on Atlantic Records. They would go on to sell 13 million albums and 6 million singles primarily during the 70’s and 80’s when they recorded their most prolific and profound music. They blended rock, jazz, soul, and pop create a genre they titled rock and soul.

While their technical musicianship, innovative songwriting styles, and popular live performances were praised, they also had a fruitful partnership with their manager Tommy Mottola, who was helped Hall & Oates break into music videos before they were popular and made profitable financial deals by helping them get on the ground level of and corporate sponsorship of tours. Hall & Oates were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
