Time's up
'Cause I'd rather be alone tonight
Time's up
I wanna go home tonight
Time's up
'Cause I need to be alone tonight
Time's up

All night, we sat in your room
And the clock kept ticking on (clock kept ticking on)
I had nothing to say with a smile (I had nothing to say)
And if once, twice, let me think of myself
All I ever do is think of you (All ever do is think of you)
Step back (step back) and let me breathe for a while (Step back)
And let me think (let me think)

Oh, Time's up
Clock on the shelf
And the time reminds me things ain't going right, no
(I think I know the time's up)
So, I wanna go home, 'cause I'd rather be alone tonight
Time's up for us and I tell myself
That things aren't going right, no
(I'd better be leaving now)
Yeah, I wanna go home, 'cause I'd rather be alone tonight

Well, looking so soft (So soft), stay strong (Stay strong)
Because I'm tied to you mentally
But on the bad nights, the mood's a miss by a mile
(The mood's a miss)
So, it's left (Left), right (Right), got a woman in and out of your life, girl
(In and out of your life, girl)
Aw, step back and let me breathe for a while (Step back)
And let me breathe (let me breathe)

Oh, Time's up
Clock on the shelf
And the time reminds me things ain't going right, no
(I think I know the time's up)
So, I wanna go home, 'cause I'd rather be alone tonight
Time's up for us and I tell myself
That things aren't going right, no
(I'd better be leaving now)
Yeah, I wanna go home, 'cause I'd rather be alone tonight
Awh, gotta go home tonight

Time's up
'Cause I'd rather be alone tonight
Time's up
Oh, I wanna go home tonight
Time's up
'Cause I need to be alone tonight
Time's up
I need to be alone, I need to be alone

'Cause Time's up
Clock on the shelf
And the time reminds me things ain't going right, no
(I think I know the time's up)
'Cause, I wanna go home, yeah, I'd rather be alone tonight
There's no time, no time, there's no time, no time for you
(I'd better be leaving now)
Awh, I wanna go home, 'cause I'd rather be alone
There's no time, there's no time, no time
(I think I know the time's up)
Oh, 'cause I wanna go home, 'cause I need to be alone tonight

Hall & Oates

Hall & Oates released the first of their 18 albums in 1972 on Atlantic Records. They would go on to sell 13 million albums and 6 million singles primarily during the 70’s and 80’s when they recorded their most prolific and profound music. They blended rock, jazz, soul, and pop create a genre they titled rock and soul.

While their technical musicianship, innovative songwriting styles, and popular live performances were praised, they also had a fruitful partnership with their manager Tommy Mottola, who was helped Hall & Oates break into music videos before they were popular and made profitable financial deals by helping them get on the ground level of and corporate sponsorship of tours. Hall & Oates were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
