[Intro]
Oh, yeah

[Verse 1]
We got a good thing, babe
Whenever life is hard
We'll never lose our way
'Cause we both know who we are
Who knows about tomorrow?
We don't know what's in the stars
I just know I'll always follow
The light in your heart

[Pre-Chorus]
I'm not worried about us
And I've never been
We know how the story ends

[Chorus]
We will never break
We will never break
Built on a foundation
Strong enough to stay
We will never break
As the water rises
And the mountains shake
Our love will remain

[Post-Chorus]
We will never
Nah, nah, never
We will never
Nah, nah, never

[Verse 2]
It's more than a good sensation
It's more than a passing fling
You are the explanation
Of what love really means
It's bigger than you and me
It's one plus one equals three
When we talk about forever
Then forever's what we mean

[Pre-Chorus]
So I'm not worried about us
And I've never been
No matter what may come our way

[Chorus]
We will never break
We will never break
Built on a foundation
Stronger than the pain
We will never break
As the water rises
And the mountains shake
Our love will remain

[Post-Chorus]
We will never
Nah, nah never
We will never
Nah, nah never
We will never
Nah, never
We will never
No

[Bridge]
The world is dangerous
Throw it all at us
There's nothing we cannot take

[Chorus]
We will never break
We will never break
Built on a foundation
Strong enough to stay
We will never break
As the water rises
And the mountains shake
Our love will remain

[Post-Chorus]
We will never
Nah, nah, never
We will never
Nah, nah, never
We will never
Nah, never
We will never
No

[Outro]
We will never
No, never
We will
No

John Legend

John Legend was born in 1978 in Ohio. He became an in-demand session musician and songwriter, working with such artists as Alicia Keys, Twista and Janet Jackson. He was soon introduced to up-and-coming hip-hop artist Kanye West, and the two musicians collaborated on one another’s demos.

J. Ivy claims credit for bestowing the “Legend” moniker upon John Stephens (with an assist from Kanye West). Via

Kanye was like, ‘Have you heard of this singer called John Stephens?’ He played me this song from him, that I think will.i.am produced. It was so refreshing and soulful. An hour later, John Stephens comes into the studio. I told him, ‘I heard your music. It’s so amazing. It sounds old school. Man, you sound like one of the legends. You’re a legend. Matter of fact, that’s what I am going to call you from now The Legend. A couple days later, we were in the lounge of the studio (Record Plant) and John Stephens walks in and everyone shouts him out. I was like, ‘John Legend!’ Kanye then said, ‘You’re John Legend from now on. That’s your name!’”
