Yeah, this is about life in the '90s!
Ha, ha, that’s a state of affairs, baby

Life in the '90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs
Life in the '90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs

I remember when 1990 came in
We celebrated all night long
1991, South Africa’s under the gun
They had to let Mandela go

Just life in the '90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs
Life in the '90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs

A brand new president
An historical event, back in 1992
Billboard Magazine
Says black music is the king
And Teddy gave us new jack swing

Just life in the '90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs
Life in the '90s
So good and so bad
State of affairs

Just life in the '90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs
Life in the '90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs

Well, sex is not the same
AIDS made us change the game, back in 1994
In 1995, people almost lost their minds
Getting high on this thing called crack

Just life in the '90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs
Life in the ’90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs

1996, Olympic games are in the mix
Atlanta, Georgia put on the show
In 1997, Heaven only knows
Where this thing is gonna go

Just life in the ’90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs
Life in the '90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs
Come on!

Yeah, life in the ’90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs
Life in the '90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs

1999, it's the sign of the times
And Revelation's told us so

So good, so bad
State of affairs

Life in the ’90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs
And they still say
That Elvis is still alive
Life in the '90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs

Life in the '90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs
Life in the '90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs

Life in the '90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs
Life in the '90s
So good, so bad
State of affairs...

Kool & the Gang

Kool & the Gang is an American jazz, R&B, soul, funk, and disco group from Jersey City. They were originally named the Jazziacs when they formed the group in 1964.

They went through several musical phases during their recording career, starting out with a purist jazz sound, then funk and R&B, progressing to a smooth pop-funk ensemble, and in the post-millennium creating music with a modern, electro-pop sound.

The group was becoming prominent in the music industry in the 1970s with hits such as “Holly Wood Swinging”, “Jungle Boogie” and “Summer Madness”. However they cemented their legendary status after the addition of lead vocalist James “J.T.” Taylor. With his help they went on to create classic hits such as “Ladies Night”, “Celebration”, “Get Down On It”, “Cherish” and countless others.
