Come on!

Hup, two, three, four!
Hup, two, three, four!
Hup, two, three, four!
Hup, two, three, four!
Time to set the record straight now
Ow!

You've come a long way, baby
To get where you belong
You've come a long way
And still you've got it going on
We're sending out this message
We want the world to know
It's time to show the ladies
Just how much we love them so

Red, yellow, black or white
It doesn't matter what you are tonight
We're gonna celebrate
Put your name in lights
Come to attention
Hup, two, three, four!
Everybody on the floor!

Salute to the ladies
Give it up for the ladies
Salute to the ladies
'Cause we love you
Salute to the ladies
Give it up for the ladies
Salute to the ladies, all night
Whoo!

You've come a long way, baby
To get where you belong
Just like Aretha
You're the Queen on the throne
(Latifah!)
We're sending out this message
To every house and home
It's time to show the girls
That we respect and love them so

Red, yellow, black or white
It doesn't matter what you are tonight
We're gonna celebrate
Put your name in lights
Come to attention
And give it to the ladies tonight
To the ladies, tonight
To the ladies, tonight
To the ladies, tonight!
Give it up to the ladies
Ho!
Everybody on the floor!

Salute to the ladies
Give it up for the ladies
Salute to the ladies
'Cause we love you
Salute to the ladies
Give it up for the ladies
Salute to the ladies, all night

The girl came home on the left
(Alright!)
She like to get down on the left
(Alright!)
Sound off, 1, 2, sound off, 3, 4
Ladies count, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4!
Company, ho!

Salute
Give it up
Salute

Salute
Give it up
Salute

Salute
Give it up
Salute

You all know how it is
You like to get down to the left
But she said get down to the right
But the lady said not tonight

Salute to the ladies
Give it up
Salute

Kool & the Gang

Kool & the Gang is an American jazz, R&B, soul, funk, and disco group from Jersey City. They were originally named the Jazziacs when they formed the group in 1964.

They went through several musical phases during their recording career, starting out with a purist jazz sound, then funk and R&B, progressing to a smooth pop-funk ensemble, and in the post-millennium creating music with a modern, electro-pop sound.

The group was becoming prominent in the music industry in the 1970s with hits such as “Holly Wood Swinging”, “Jungle Boogie” and “Summer Madness”. However they cemented their legendary status after the addition of lead vocalist James “J.T.” Taylor. With his help they went on to create classic hits such as “Ladies Night”, “Celebration”, “Get Down On It”, “Cherish” and countless others.
