[Verse 1]
Tried to change, but I can't get a grip
And I've read every self help tip
Wondering if I was born like this
Black rainbow in a lucky dip
Deep down, I never did feel right
Got my heart stuck in a twist
Happiness was for other people
Stayed away like a masochist

[Pre-Chorus]
I'm broken in so many ways
Maybe I shouldn't try to change

[Chorus]
If I got rid of my demons, I'd lose my angels
There are so many reasons why life is painful
I believe that what I feel can set me free and God knows
If I got rid of my demons, I'd lose my angels

[Post-Chorus]
Oh-oh, angels
Oh-oh, angels

[Verse 2]
Yeah, I gеt very high, very low
Nevеr known where the wind could blow
Yes, I guess I like to be alone
Hit the gravel like a rolling stone
Maybe it's just in my blood, maybe pain is good for us
Need the day to see the night, need the dark to see the light

[Pre-Chours]
I know I'm flawed in many ways
But maybe I don't need to change

[Chorus]
If I got rid of my demons, I'd lose my angels
There are so many reasons why life is painful
I believe that what I feel can set me free and God knows
If I got rid of my demons, I'd lose my angels

[Post-Chorus]
Oh-oh, angels
Oh-oh, angels
Oh-oh, angels
Oh-oh, angels

Marina Diamandis

Marina Lambrini Diamandis, better known as MARINA (formerly Marina and the Diamonds), is a Welsh singer-songwriter and musician.

Growing up in Wales, England and Greece, Marina became “obsessed with becoming a singer, almost as if it was a disease.” After moving to London, it took four years before she established herself as a singer-songwriter. After several independently-released EPs, she placed second on the BBC Sound of 2010 list. In 2010, her debut album, The Family Jewels, was released to critical acclaim and chart success, eventually being certified Gold in the UK.

Her 2012 sophomore album, Electra Heart, was a concept album in which she embraced the titular persona—a vapid, blonde “straight-up pop star” who arose out of her label’s demands for a more commercial pop sound and Marina’s desire to maintain artistic integrity. It became her most successful album, debuting atop the UK, Scotland and Ireland album charts.
