[Chorus]
Why you put me on the naughty list? (Uh-huh)
Maybe I was too good for ya (Uh-huh)
Why you put me on the naughty list? (Uh-huh)
Maybe I was too good for ya, good for ya (Uh-huh)

[Verse 1]
I've been on my best behavior for life
Why you gotta judge me just for one night? (Ah-ah)
Even when I’m reckless, I always do what's right
So give me one more try (Let me off this time)
Let me off this time

[Chorus]
Why you put me on the naughty list? (Uh-huh)
Maybe I was too good for ya (Uh-huh)
Why you put me on the naughty list? (Uh-huh)
Maybe I was too good for ya, good for ya (Uh-huh)
Maybe all my love for you was too nice
So why you put me on the naughty list? (Uh-huh)
Maybe I was too good for ya, good for ya (Uh-huh)

[Post-Chorus]
I ain't ever been naughty, naughty, no, no
I nevеr been naughty, naughty, no, no
I ain't ever been naughty, naughty, no, no
I nevеr been naughty, naughty, no, no

[Verse 2]
I got you too heated, you're melting my ice
And I think you forgot to check your list twice
‘Cause I (Ah)
Even when I’m reckless, I always do what’s right
So give me one more try (Let me off this time)
Let me off this time

I ain't ever been naughty, naughty, no, no
I never been naughty, naughty, no, no
I ain't ever been naughty, naughty, no, no
I never been naughty, naughty, no, no

[Bridge]
Give me one, one reason for this
'Cause there's two sides to everything
I need three, real apologies
Take me off that list
There’s only been four times you walked out that door
And five different ways that I've cried
And six, I'm so tired of this
That’s my Christmas list

[Chorus]
So why you put me on the naughty list? (Uh-huh)
Maybe I was too good for ya (Uh-huh)
Why you put me on the naughty list? (Uh-huh)
Maybe I was too good for ya, good for ya (Uh-huh)
Oh, maybe all my love for you was too nice
So why you put me on the naughty list? (Uh-huh)
Maybe I was too good for ya, good for ya (Uh-huh)
(I was too good for ya)

[Post-Chorus]
I ain't ever been naughty, naughty, no, no
I never been naughty, naughty, no, no
I ain't ever been naughty, naughty, no, no
I never been naughty, naughty, no, no
(I was too good for ya)

Meghan Trainor

Meghan Trainor is a pop singer-songwriter from Nantucket. Before launching her solo career, she wrote songs for the likes of Sia and Sabrina Carpenter. She entered pop stardom with the controversial but danceable body-positivity anthem “All About That Bass,” which led her 2015 debut LP, Title.

In 2016, Meghan released her sophomore effort Thank You, which was preceded by the smash single “NO.” Peaking at #3 on the Hot 100, top 20 track “Me Too” & the reggae-influenced “Better” supported the release of the album.

Staying reasonably quiet in 2017, Trainor dropped the single “I’m A Lady” for the “The The Lost Village.” Trainor underwent vocal surgery during the year and needed time to rest her voice before returning to the limelight.
