[Verse 1]
Not much in common for you and me
But the upside is we can celebrate differently
Ain't worth the drama, ain't rocket science
If we begin with love we can make it unconditionally
If you've taken a look at the news at nine
Opened the book and you've seen the sign
You've gotta believe it's time to

[Chorus]
Give it away, give it away, darling
Don't hold on tight when we can
Give it away on every corner
Try to make this world much warmer
Give it away, give it away, turn that
Great ship around, sail it shoreward
Just stand your ground and pay it forward

[Verse 2]
The thunders shaking above you and me
But the flip side is we can make electricity
Ain't worth the drama, ain't in defiance
Don't complicate, it's the art of simplicity
When there's nothing in sight and you're lost at sea
Alone in the night and there's no plan B
The timing is right to say, come on

[Chorus]
Give it away, give it away, darling
Don't hold on tight when we can
Give it away on every corner
Try to make this world much warmer
Give it away, give it away, turn that
Great ship around, sail it shoreward
Just stand your ground and pay it forward

[Chorus]
Give it away, give it away, darling
Don't lose the fight when we should
Give it away on every border
Burn the fires and make it warmer
Give it away, give it away, girl
Don't ever lose sight, hold your corner

[Verse 3]
So much in common with you and me
You know it's true, only love will ever set you free, so

[Chorus]
Give it away, give it away, darling
Don't hold on tight when we can
Give it away on every corner
Try to make this world much warmer
Give it away give it away, turn that
Great ship around, sail it shoreward
Just stand your ground and pay it forward

[Chorus]
Give it away, give it away, darling
Don't lose the fight when we should
Give it away on every border
Burn the fires and make it warmer
Give it away, give it away, turn that
Great ship around, guide it shoreward
Just stand your ground and pay it forward
Just turn around and pay it forward
So stand your ground and pay it forward
