Songwriter: Siobhan Fahey Marcella Detroit

The morning light shines on my face
The Sun is in the sky, yeah
I take my place in the human race
I'm getting ready to fly, yeah

I don't need to talk to you
Both know what you put me through
I don't care what you say or do

[Chorus 1]
I'm gonna C-U-Next-Tuesday, baby
I'm shakin' my blues
And my walkin' shoes
I'll C-U-Next-Tuesday, baby
I'm saying goodbye
That's goodbye to you

You were more than a pretty face
One would you paint in the skies, yeah
Though your love has left its trace
I'll paint it with your lies, yeah

Don't care what you say or do
I don't need to talk to you
We both know what you put me through
Uh-huh-uh

[Chorus 2]
I'm gonna C-U-Next-Tuesday, baby
I'm shakin' my blues
And my workin' shoes
I'll C-U-Next-Tuesday, baby
I'm saying goodbye
That's goodbye to you

Let me down one time

Oh let me down two times
Baby now

Oh let me down three times

And you never-gonna-do-it
No-you-never-gonna-do-it
Again

(Instrumental harmonica)

[Outro Chorus]
I'm gonna C-U-Next-Tuesday, baby
I'm shakin' my blues
And my workin' shoes
I'll C-U-Next-Tuesday, baby
I'm saying goodbye:
That's goodbye to you

Shakespears Sister

Shakespear’s Sister is a pop-rock duo formed in 1988 by Siobhan Fahey, who left Bananarama after disagreements with the musical direction the band was going. The band was originally intended to be Fahey’s solo project, but immediately became a duo after she recruited American singer Marcella Detroit (aka Marcy Levy).
