[Verse 1]
Baby, I was wrong, I misjudged you
And baby I was wrong to not trust you
And baby I was wrong but I won't be wrong again
Listen, baby
And baby I was wrong when I left you
And maybe I'd be worse off without you
Baby I'll be damned if I don't let you in my life again

[Chorus]
(It's you) It's you, (it's me) it's me
But hold up, who is she? Damn
What was I thinking?
All I know right now is that I hate you
For what you put me through
With all of my heart, I hate that girl you're with, too
I hate you, and everything about you
I won't apologize, you need to recognize
With all of my heart I hate that I love you

[Verse 2]
What could I have done not to hurt you?
And what could I have done not to push you away?
Tell me what I've done and I won't do it again, oh babe
Just tell me what I did to deserve this
And tell me why you gave someone else my kiss
And maybe I won't die if you're back in my life again

[Chorus]
(It's you) It's you, (it's me) it's me
But hold up, who is she? Oh damn
What was I thinking?
All I know right now is that I hate you
For what you put me through
With all of my heart, I hate that girl you're with, too
I hate you, and everything about you
I won't apologize, you need to recognize
With all of my heart I hate that I love you

[Bridge]
I hate the fact that I think about you
I hate that I can't sleep without you
I just can't get over not making love to you
I never thought that we'd end up like this
And heaven knows that my heart just can't take
Damn, for sure, I know right now I hate you, yeah

[Chorus]
For what you put me through
With all of my heart, I hate that girl you're with, too
I hate you, and everything about you
I won't apologize, you need to recognize
With all of my heart I hate that I love you...

Toni Braxton (born on October 7, 1967) is an American singer-songwriter, pianist, record producer, actress, and philanthropist, and has been active since 1989. She is best known for her single “Unbreak My Heart” and her second album Secrets. Braxton was discovered early by William E. Pettaway Jr., who helped her launch her career.

Braxton first started performing with her four sisters in a family band titled “The Braxtons” in the late 1980s, successfully attracting the attention of Antonio “L.A.” Reid and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, who were co-artists Braxton’s songs, including her signature song, Un-Break My Heart.

L.A. Reid and Babyface brought Braxton in as a substitution and had her record a demo of “Love Shoulda Brought You Home”. The song made it onto the soundtrack of the movie Boomerang, giving her early success and recognition. Braxton started recording her solo debut album at LaFace Records on July 13, 1993, quickly gaining popularity as it peaked at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 Albums Chart. Braxton’s debut album has won her several awards, including three Grammy Awards. Her debut album also won her two American Music Awards.
