[Verse 1]
I'm cleanin' out my closet today
I'm throwin' all these old rags away
Don't like the way that nothin' looks on me anymore
And it feels like he don't wanna be worn
So I'ma take him off my hanger, yeah
I'm thinkin' maybe I should donate him, yeah
And then someone else can deal with it
'Cause I done had my fill of it
And I, think it's time for me to change it up

[Chorus]
So I'm redoing my wardrobe, I've had enough
I'm gonna fill up my closet with brand new love
A dress that wants to hold me tight
A coat that keeps me warm at night
I'm redoing my wardrobe with brand new love, oh

[Verse 2]
I ran into an old friend today
She said "Girl, why you smilin' that way?"
And then, she notices a new face I got on
She asked me where'd I get it from
I said, "I took him off my hanger
Girl, can you believe I had to donate him? (Oh, girl)
Someone else can deal with it
'Cause I done had my fill of it
And I, had to wake up and take care of myself, oh

[Chorus]
So I'm redoing my wardrobe, 'cause I've had enough
I'm gonna fill up my closet with brand new love (Fill up my closet, yeah, oh-ooh)
A dress that wants to hold me tight
A coat that keeps me warm at night
I'm redoing my wardrobe with brand new love, oh (Oh)

[Bridge]
See, we only get one life
So, you gotta do it right
And it shouldn't take too much time to figure it out
If it ain't broken, girl
No need to stitch it up and give
Your love to someone who really cares, oh

[Chorus]
So I'm redoing my wardrobe, I've had enough (I'ma do my wardrobe, oh)
I'm gonna fill up my closet with brand new love (Fillin' up my closet)
A dress that wants to hold me tight (Hey)
A coat that keeps me warm at night (Night)
I'm redoing my wardrobe with brand new love, oh

[Outro]
I'm redoing my wardrobe, redo my wardrobe
I'm redoing my wardrobe, redo my wardrobe
I'm redoing my wardrobe, redo my wardrobe
I'm redoing my wardrobe with brand new love, oh

The song made it onto the soundtrack of the movie Boomerang, giving her early success and recognition.
