[Intro]
Yeah

[Verse 1]
So long ago I don't remember when
They say that's when I lost my only friend
They said, "She died easy of a broken heart disease"
As I listened through the cemetery trees
I see the sun coming up at the funeral at dawn
The long broken arm of human law
Now it always seemed such a waste, she always had a pretty face
I wonder how she hung around this place

[Chorus]
Hey, so come and try a little, nothing is forever
There's got to be something better than in the middle
But me and Cinderella put it all together
We can drive it home, with one headlight, with one headlight

[Verse 2]
She said, "It's cold, it feels like Independence Day
And I can't break away from this parade
But there's got to be an opening somewhere here in front of me
Through this maze of ugliness and greed"
And I see the sun coming up at the County Line Bridge
Saying all there's good and nothingness is dead
We'll run until she's out of breath, she ran until there's nothing left
She hit the end, it's just her window ledge

[Chorus]
Hey, come and try a little, nothing is forever
There's got to be something better than in the middle
But me and Cinderella put it all together
We can drive it home, with one headlight, with one headlight

[Bridge]
Well, this place is old, it feel just like a beat up truck
I turn the engine, but the engine doesn't turn
And it smells like cheap wine and cigarettes
This place is always such a mess
Sometimes I think I'd like to watch it burn
I'm so alone, and I feel just like somebody else
Man, I ain't changed, but I know I ain't the same
But somewhere here in between the city walls of dying dreams
I think her death, it must be killing me (It must be killing me)

[Chorus]
Come and try a little, nothing is forever
There's got to be something better than in the middle
But me and Cinderella put it all together
We can drive it home, with one headlight, one headlight
One headlight, one headlight (One headlight)

blackbear

blackbear is the stage name of LA-based producer and singer-songwriter Mat Musto, popularly known for co-writing Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend,” in 2012. Some of his first collaborations were with the likes of Pharrell Williams, MGK, and Childish Gambino. Later, Musto reinvented himself—he coined the name blackbear from a previous EP titled Year of the Blackbear. Under his new name, he started leaning more towards rapping and an R&B-oriented style.

His first mixtape Sex included collaborations with his peers James Blake, Maejor Ali, and “Boyfriend” co-writer Mike Posner. The Afterglow followed in 2014.

In 2015, blackbear released “idfc,” as the lead single from his debut album Deadroses. It increased his fan following and revenue, earning him millions of playback streams and a spot on Billboard’s Uncharted List of Undiscovered and Upcoming Artists. The second single, “90210,” included a feature from G-Eazy—blackbear made an appearance in his 2014 track, “Remember You.”
