[Intro: Adam Young]
An 8 year old girl had a panic attack
Cause the father she loved left and never looked back
No longer the hero, she counted on
He told her he loved her and then he was gone

[Verse 1: Adam Young]
She tried to look happy in front of her friends
But knew that she'd never feel normal again
She fought back the tears as they filled her eyes
And wanted him back just to tell him goodbye

[Chorus: Adam Young]
When the rain falls down
When it all turns around
When the light goes out this isn't the end

[Verse 2: Adam Young]
Her dad was a good guy that everyone liked
But nobody knew he was dying inside
He promised his family he'd be all right
And then with a gunshot he left them behind

[Chorus: Adam Young]
When the rain falls down
When it all turns around
When the light goes out this isn't the end
When the rain falls down
When it all turns around
When the light goes out this isn't the end

[Verse 3: Adam Young]
The role of a father, he never deserved
He abandoned his daughter and never returned
And over the years though the pain was real
She finally forgave him, and started to heal

[Bridge: Adam Young]
How close is the ending? Well, nobody knows
The future's a mystery and anything goes
Love is confusing and life is hard
You fight to survive cause you made it this far

[Outro: Adam Young]
It's all too astounding to comprehend
It's just the beginning this isn't the end
It's just the beginning this isn't the end

Owl City

Originally making songs in his basement for his friends as Sky Sailing, Adam Young then discovered synth music and became Owl City, releasing two relatively unpopular albums Maybe I’m Dreaming and Of June before making his hit single “Fireflies” which made his third album as Owl City, Ocean Eyes a hit.

After this worldwide success he put on two more albums, All Things Bright and Beautiful in 2011, and The Midsummer Station in 2012. In 2014 he released an EP, Ultraviolet, composed of 4 songs whom one would appear on his following album, Mobile Orchestra. Retiring from Owl City in 2016 to focus on Adam Young Scores, a new project made of orchestral soundtracks about historic events, he reappeared in 2017 to tease his upcoming new album Cinematic, with the release of a series of three EPs, called Reel 1 , 2 and 3.
