Stoned in the supermarket
Said  hello to cherry cola
Every  single sucker has to pay

Don't bump the groove, you bitch
You gotta tell them all that
You  are rich
You  gotta face the music
Take it like a man

Let's  have a party
Let's have a real good time
A singles party
You in your head
Me  in mine

Go on and wish yourself
A happy new year

If you don't believe in Mother Nature
Then believe in digging dirt
Only the knowing know
Rewind the tape
The truth will hurt

No, it's not my kind of cure
I like my manifestos pure
God is trash
You can buy him by the gram

Let's have a party
Let's have a real good time
A singles party
You in your head, me in mine

Go on and wish yourself
A happy new year
A happy new year
A happy new year
A happy new year
Year, yeah, yeah

Don't bump the groove
She said
You know you won't be here when
You are dead
You gotta taste the music
Get it while you can

Let's have a party
Let's have a real good time
A singles party
You in your head
Me in mine

Go on and wish yourself
A happy new year
A happy new year
A happy new year
A happy new year
Yeah yeah

I said, a happy new year

Shakespears Sister

Shakespear’s Sister is a pop-rock duo formed in 1988 by Siobhan Fahey, who left Bananarama after disagreements with the musical direction the band was going. The band was originally intended to be Fahey’s solo project, but immediately became a duo after she recruited American singer Marcella Detroit (aka Marcy Levy).
