Oh I was feeling so much
But I was losing touch
See the way that I feel
I feel unreal

Don't vacuum my heart
'Cause I'll rip you apart
Or I'll let you inside
And take your mind for a ride

You went away, I hate this game
I fell away, I'm here today
You know my name, I'm here to stay
Don't want to play your stupid game

I can't take more of this
I'm getting really pissed
All alone in my mind
Dreamed you all the time

You ran away, I hate this game
I fell away, I'm here today
You know my name, it's here to stay
Don't want to play your stupid game
Going to play it anyway, anyway, any

It's the same old thing
I'm sick of everything
Seems I know it too well
Just your little hell

You ran away, I hate this game
I fell away, I'm here today
You know my name, it's here to stay
Don't want to play

You ran away, I hate this game
I fell away, I'll leave today
You know my name, it's here to stay
Don't want to play
Don't want to play your stupid game

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts

After splitting with The Runaways, and releasing her first solo album, Joan Jett placed an ad in LA Weekly looking for bandmates. Gary Ryan, Eric Ambel, and Danny “Furious” O'Brien joined her, creating the orginial Blackhearts lineup.

After their initial tour though, O'Brien was replaced with Lee Crystal.

Early on, keeping the band afloat was not easy. Joan and producer Kenny Laguna struggled, sometimes selling copies of albums from the trunk of his car. Eventually unable to keep up with the demand for Joan Jett’s album, they signed with Boardwalk Records.
